5 prizes totalling £325 for me and £50 for Margaret; both max holdings
  • Top of the FTSE league and £250 on PB(max). 🤓🥂
  • £100 for my wife on £30k, nothing for me on £35k. Can't wait for the new ISA season...
  • £125 for me (45k)
    £200 for the wife (max)
  • £50 on £37k.
  • Nothing for me on 22k.
That's 4 consecutive months of Nothing.

Only about £275 in total for the whole year compared to about £1250 last year.

Think I'll transfer the money into something else in January.
  • £500 for Mrs Carter this month from less than 5k

£50 for me on a little bit more

PBs £175 on max holding. 3.75% return in calendar year.
  • Nothing for me on max. First time in a while I’m not got anything so quite a shock!
  • £50 for me on full holding. 1.05% over the year...

  • Nothing for me on 30k, £100 for my wife on the same.
  • £200 this month (25k holding), £125 for Mrs (max) and zero for jnr (10k). £625 over the last 6 months for me is keeping me hooked.  :#
  • I've got a couple of stocks and shares ISAs with different providers. Thinking of closing them both and sticking in a fixed term savings account. Any thoughts?
Not sure what having them with different providers makes to your decision ?

Why do you want to come out the market & go into cash?  Do you need the money soon ?

Also, dont take the money out as you'll lose the tax free advantage. At least transfer the money from one ISA provider to another ISA provider.. That way they will still be inside an ISA wrapper.

A while back I stopped reinvesting the cash dividends in my Stocks and shares ISA back into shares. I recently transferred that accumulated cash from the Stocks and Shares ISA to a newly opened Cash ISA. This was from Halifax Share Dealing to Kent Reliance Building Society.

It was a bit of a mare because both them seem to struggle with the fact, isn’t wasnt a Cash ISA to Cash ISA transfer. However, got there in the end.

  • £50 for me, £375 for Mrs M - both max holdings.
  • £75 for me on full holding. Been a relatively weak 6 months on PB after a great first half of the year.
  • £200 for me on 43k. Better than average this year but not enough to make the year yield respectable.

On the other hand I have to consider that its one of the UK based holdings that people resident abroad can legitimately hold.
  • Nought, again
  • £100 off max. Finishing the year with a 6.5% return.
  • Nothing for me again only 1.5% return this Callander year.
  • 4.5% return for me this year

Put £4.50 on it, you’ll get  £45k back. Simple.
  • £100 for me, full holding. 2.55% for the year. Not great but it’s the only “gamble” I have so had the fun of some what if daydreaming too.

For this calendar year I'm at just over 4% on average of about £26k. My wife (max holding) is at 3.75%, daughter with a similar amount to me is at 22%, but she had a big £5k win in Jan 24 which increases her return considerably.

I'll stick with mine for now, as a higher rate tax payer with no ISA allowance left 4% is pretty good as over 7% gross. No chance of getting my wife to cash hers in as she just see's it as a fun game! But also gives her a bit more income to spend.
  • Just took a look over the year to see the returns. Finished up at £6,575 from a full holding. So 13.15% return.

However that’s heavily skewed by a single £5k win, which had I not got that I’d have been more like 3%.

Still slightly better than having it in high-interest savings as I’d have had to pay 45% tax on that.

However, I’m starting to think that the money could maybe be better off just being invested in my pension - or at least a big part of it.
