Our Dad started in the 50's. My brother in the 60's Me in the 70's. Paid for my own tickets from the 80's. Season ticket from the 90's. Hubby joined us in the 00's. But alas no more. Even if I had not moved to West Cork two years ago, I would have given up my s/t a season ago. I won't give a single penny to Roland. Go now.
First season ticket was final year at Shithouse Park, or perhaps the year before that. I remember thinking about getting a season ticket after that 'nearly' promotion run at the end of the sixties, but the next season was dire so I was glad at the time that I hadn't.
18 years and in that time I have made some my best friends and loads of drunk antics, and loads of memories some good and some bad of football at the valley, just heartbreaking to see lots of fans walking away and having to watch the team you love from a far because of the CEO and owner
Dad first took me when I was 4 in 1970 and regularly from 1972 onwards. Didn't need a season ticket in those days, but got one (with @guinnessaddick ) for the Sainsburys end at Selhurst (£54 I think).
Got a 10 year VIP when we came back, then the 5 year they replaced it with and then another 5 (although it was actually 4 because of when they released it). And started bringing my dad too when we came back (getting my own back ). STs since those long term ones finished.
We're done now til the Interims have gone. Can't lie...will miss it, but just can't stomach these idiots & what they've done.
As AFKA says, such a sad thread. So many people deciding with their feet that there is a limit to the 'abuse' that is going to be thrown at them. So sad.
My first season ticket was in the 80s at Selhurst Park, probably 89/90 but not entirely sure. That's 27 years, but I won't be renewing until this regime has gone.
When they're gone, I'll renew at the next opportunity.
This continues to be a very sad thread. Many years of support walking away, maybe for good, especially the younger ones as they find something else or worse still another club.

Indeed RM. All 3 of my kids had season tickets (ages range between 7 - 15). All of the used to love going, the 15 year old was Charlton mad (and we live in a West Ham area). Over the last year he has completely lost interest. Admittedly not going to games hasn't helped, but even the away games are miles off his radar.
Gutted I can't do the football / kid thing, like my dad and me, his dad and him did.
Got another one on the way, so my the time he / she is 5 or 6 hopefully we will be rid of the Belgians.
I will added tho if KM goes I'll get one even if Roland stays, I personally feel she has done more damage to the club on her own the Roland's lack of ambition
There are 146 comments on this thread. Some are people posting twice. So my rough estimate is that 120 individuals have posted, and the average is 15 years a season ticket holder (this is also not including walk up support, or those posting about more than one ST holder). So on that measure alone it is a combined total of 1800 seasons of such loyalty. My estimate is deliberately conservative, but it compares with the owner and CEO who have less that 3 seasons between the two of them.
Incredibly sad to see so many loyal fans being forced by this dreadful regime to give up their seats. I have been a ST holder for 18 years. Not renewing whilst these people remain in charge.
