  • That first summer under Roland saw some decent players arrive. Of course the squad didn't have enough depth, but was easily good enough to comfortably survive in the Championship, a state of affairs way ahead of where we are now.
Mad to think we spent £2.5m on a single player (vetokele).
Might have been money well spent if we hadnt badly mishandled his injury. Without evidence, I continue to believe that our ongoing failure to keep players injury free and look after them effectively when they are injured, goes back to the RD regime. Under the Spivs, our injury record was decent, especially in the promotion season.
I would think the players we bring in also has a lot to do with it. If your picking up players cheap and on frees because of their poor injury record then it’s not surprising we have in recent years have an injury hit squad.

Remember away at Brighton he scored twice and ran them absolutely ragged. Thought we'd signed another Darren Bent esque goal machine and then injuries completely derailed him.
We're cursed when it comes to key long term injuries. Igor, Taylor, Wiggins, Chuks, etc.

Look at Millwall with Flemming - a long term injury to him would completely derail their season but will it happen? No chance.

Long term Zaha injury for Palace? Nope.

Long term freak injury for Taylor whilst on international duty for Montserrat that ultimately relegates us? Yeah go on then.
We knew what we were getting with Chuks

Leaving Burnley after 8 seasons. Had a fair amount of injuries in that time but has ended up playing 180 Premier League games across that time for them
I can't believe it has been that long.
  • Will make a good addition To the treatment Room , it’s a yes from me
  • Their fans are gutted too - he's really popular up there
