  • End of an era!
  • Got a link?
  • Is this a wind up?! Nothing on official site or Sky Sports News....
  • Was the word on the street at last week's sponsors' dinner, so I believe it.
  • Who the feck would take on his 4 year rolling contract? Don't believe it for a minute.
  • oi reserves, was this a wind up????
  • Lisbie gone:
You are joking, he is one of the best young players we have at the club. The club are not looking to the future, what's the point of Valley Gold if we are not using the players that it help develop.

Quite how Kev has survived it a modern Valley mystery. I know he has his fans. I can even recall about three seasons ago a number of fans on netaddicks claiming that Darren Bent was as a ‘poor club’s Kevin Lisbie’. I imagine they have revised their view or their medication. It is hard to imagine Lisbie as first choice in many CCC teams or even third or fourth choice in the better ones. Mind you for some he will always be promising young Kevin Lisbie - even when he is 35 and still failing to score regularly in CAFC Reserves.
  • IF (and it's a big IF at the moment) this is true, what chance he'll turn-up just over the water with Uncle Alan, Uncle Merv and Uncle Keef?

    Nil.

  • he had 185 minutes of action in the Premier this season - 5% of the total playing time available to a player

a very rough calculation meant that each minute Kev played this season he earned £2000 in salary

It is 1004 days since he scored a league goal for us

    god bless him

In a "normal" world, I'd completely agree with you - but there's got to be something that Curbishley sees in young Kev that we have all missed. How else can you explain him being with us for 10 years?

Hmmm, someone has a little too much time on their hands.........
  • Well super kev's time expired a long time ago, only problem was for some reason we kept him past his expiry date,as i mentioned on a previous thread he was never going to get a testimonial,Super kev if you remember went on the transfer list at his own request and no one came in for him, he went out on loan and eventually came back to us.Has done well in reserve games... time to move on. End of an era.
  • no, it can't be true.Think of all those young mouths he has to feed. It really isn't fair. Spongers like Darren Bent should be shown the door first. I really thought we were a caring club. How wrong can one be. I'm ashamed and disgusted. Wait till I see Murray tomorrow night.
  • Forgot to mention M Bent is off too.
  • When Di Canio was here he said Lisbie was the most talented player at the club. So it wasn't just Curbishley that saw something in him

Come on reserves, what's your source for 'Lisbie gone' ?! I've got the champers on ice but wont be cracking it open til it's confirmed....

    Really? I do hope so...

If his body language at Anfield was anything to go by, he's long gone...

  • Kev is no worse than one good game in 10 Hughes, Kish, and some other very average players we have

I know, but we've still been paying him...
  • lets get our pitchforks and torches and we'll all meet at the training ground!
  • If he could stay fit I would rather have Kevin play for us than Marcus.

    Amen to that.

    Agree

KL had a great attitude, fantastic work rate, never moaned or sulked, was happy to play out wide or as a sub and defended from the front.

    He has skill and speed.

The only flaw in his game is his inability to put the white round thing in the oblong net thing.

But he does it in training apparently. I know it is getting rather late but he needs someone to believe in him and give him a good run like Pards did with MB. That would probably have to be at a new club.
  • Give me Lisbie over Marcus Bent, JFH or Rommedahl any day of the week.
  • Hughes, Kish and El Kak gone as well.
  • if those 3 go, as well as the others who will deffo leave, we'll be buying an entire squad this summer! should be interesting times!

p.s. i don't believe this but well done reserves for the effort!
