What do you all make of his final paragraph?

  • Team spirit only gets you so far (as we have found out), quality will always show through in the end.

I just hope that we get the needed quality in the obvious areas (striker, midfielder and goalkeeper) and we should be good enough to come straight back up. True, Watford and Sheff U may not lose their players (well, apart from Jagielka, maybe King, and Ben Foster) but i think we are better equipped and have a better manager to get us out again.

The way that Sheff Utd went down is going to have a big impact on them i think (wouldnt surprise me if Warnock left).
  • What Does he know about the Lower Leagues, Nothing!
  • Alan who?

I think the article is ok but the facts over the last 10 games are that West Ham, inspired by Tevez, one of the best players in the world, clawed their way out of a situation which, but for Tevez would have been nigh on imposible. I have no issue with West Ham per se, the previous regime were culpable as to the Third Party contact issue, and the FAPL totally maladministered the aftermath. The fact is that Tevez (& the other bloke) were signed at the 11th hour of the transfer window on a dodgy basis which was against the rules. They knew that and decided to conceal this fact and register the players before the deadline closed. If they had sought to alter/renegotiate this contract, the deal would have been lost, the registration would not have happened and Tevez would not be a West Ham player. That's it. So Mr Hansen, please don't spout this incorrect drivel that West Ham's survival had nothing to do with an "illegally" contracted player. It did.

We cannot be 100% certain that West Ham would not have done it anyway. Indeed my West Ham mate says that for the first two thirds of the season West Ham may well have suffered as a consquence of the signing of those players. The fact is they thought that they would operate above the rules of the league in order to sign two world class players and by so doing sought an unfair advantage.,

Curbs did a great job of galvanising the team and he had to play with the cards he was dealt and by god did he play them well towards the end.
