Greipel hasn't got it this year. Good leadout for him, but no power. Think Cav is in Kittel's head here too - saw an interview with him moaning about how the finishes aren't tailor-made for him (e.g. not 100 feet wide, 2km long, pan flat, dead straight boulevards for his train to smash everyone to bits on and deliver him in the past 50 metres.)

Just hope British Cycling let him get to Paris!!
He's dominating this tour even more than previous years, only time he's failed to win was when Kittel won and everyone boxed him in!!
I don't profess to know anything about the finer points of cycling after watching the tour properly for the first time last year but find it fascinating. Cummings seems like a top bloke, nice little two fingers to the Olympic selectors in his interview as well.
How mad was the not-so-inflatable collapsing at the end!
Steve Cummings wins stage seven of the Tour de France
What a way to stick it to the Olympic Selection Committee who decided to leave him out of Rio!!
what about the other 6 stages where he failed to stick it to the Olympic Selection Committee ?
No offence, but that shows a lack of knowledge about cycling. Not taking the piss there - just a genuine comment.
Cummings is an absolute beast of a rider, and not taking him to the Olympics is an extremely shortsighted decision, bases largely on the fact that Rod Ellingworth is pretty much selecting Team Sky for the Olympics

Leroy, you are correct. I do have a lack of knowledge so apologies if I was being flippant.
Re the olympics there seems to be a lot of stories around last few weeks re selection in the cycling team for Rio.
No need for apologies. Cycling is extremely simple on the surface, but has probably more subtle nuances than almost any other sport. It does seem on the surface weird that a rider who appears to have done the square root of f***-all for the first six stages then wins one could have a legitimate gripe about not being selected for the Olympics, but Cummings is such an unselfish rider who does a huge amount of work every day at the beginning of stages, keeping breaks in check - which is often where the day's most savage racing is done (despite never being shown on telly)
He's the ultimate team man - absolutely invaluable in a road race, especially one like the Olympics, where the numbers are much reduced from usual (only five riders for Britain, compared with nine for teams at the tour)
Lots of moaning abiut British Cycling lately - largely around Shane Sutton and his selections for the women's team - but entirely legitimate disquiet from Cummings (usually a very humble man) about non-selection by Ellingworth and his Sky bias
Cavendish currently struggling with the mountains and is 23mins behind the leaders... Remember him saying in his book that its a bit irritating because people comment on how dangerously the GC Contentors descend down the mountains but what you dont see on the TV is how madly the sprinters go down the mountains because of the time they have to make up...
Today definitely shows how much faster they're having to go...
That tuck position has been used for years now, more and more often in the past few years, and pedalling whilst in the tuck has been around a while too.
Even fat ungainly gits like me descend like that (though generally not in Britain, where there isn't a single stretch of road anywhere that's smooth enough not to end up spitting you over the bars
Also, you can't slipstream unless you're slipstreaming behind someone.
Christ I sound like one of those annoying know all nauses in cycling cafés.
Monster descending from Froome. Absolute beast mode - nobody's going to bother ever attacking him on a descent again, that's for sure.
Froome has been fined £157 after throwing an elbow at a fan on one of the climbs today... Shame as Froome has come out with the below comment on Twitter which is understandable.

Is doing a superb job on the Aspin on his own, 51secs ahead of a group that includes Nibali with the last few kilometres all down hill

Whoops... Good way for the Tour favourites to neutralise the last km

Can only think he thought it was deflated and tried to ride over it at the last minute or didn't have time to react due to something else?

Never seen him in the tuck either so that will have caught everyone out.
