  • Pardon my ignorance, but what country is Zulte - Waregem in, it hardly drips off the tongue.
  • Belgium
  • Thought he'd got his mojo back after watching his performance against Rotherham but then he got injured for another month.

Hope he rediscovers his form and fitness. He might be back if he does or if he's a success Roland sells him.
  • Well I am sure the medical and fitness team at Zulte- Waregem are superior to ours, so unless we have permanently damaged him, I expect him to be successful there.
  • Will they be covering his wages in full?
  • Bye Igor. I'm unruffled by the news. Anticlimax after some initial excitement.

  • Gonna feel a bit meh with most of the foreign players leaving now to be honest.

Be great if we can keep some but if not then there wont be many I'll be too down over leaving (Bauer / JBG / Tex / Kashi maybe)
  • So RD, we are going to make money buying and selling young talent at a profit??? So far only Poyet has earned us any money. No one wants the players you bring in or at least they don't want to pay for them.

I wish Vetokele all the luck in the world with his injuries but we are making loses on these players.

Seems quite a good move to me. Let him get properly fit elsewhere, but keep him on the books with an option to keep him should we get promoted back to the Championship, or ship out if he doesn't improve or we stay in L1 (or worse!). As long as they are covering all/bulk of wages.

Or no one else is stupid enough to pay his wages and when he's out of contract next season he leaves on a free

*Note I dont actually know if he is Out of Contract next summer
  • Obviously don't know the details and all the background stuff that goes on behind these deals, but to me if he'd rather go Belgium to play in a 9k seater stadium over fighting it out with us then in League One then bye Igor, shame it hasn't worked out.

Don't think it's a case of him turning his back on us. He isn't wanted here. He started well but soon got found out and has never been the same since his injury.

We tried to off load him to Bolton on loan last season and have been planning his exit to free up some wages for months.

I think he signed a four year deal with us, so he has two more years at least left, meaning we can always sell him next summer or bring him back for our league 2 campaign if we want?
  • Okay, I'm making this up without looking at the Regs. But as he's on a long term contract, his wages don't figure in the L1 FFP Regs for next season. Is that correct?
So, if we are getting all (or a good percentage of) his wages paid does that go in the pot as turnover? If so, does that help to manipulate our wages to turnover ratio giving us double bubble?
  • Farewell Igor, you always flattered to deceive .. always 'promising', never consistent
  • That makes Chris Parkes's office look palatial! Did he sign his contract in a church hall?

With option to buy at the end of the season

Same thoughts here. If he's not prepared to graft and get us out of the 3rd division which he helped get us into, well...bye.
  • Good luck Igor, excellent first season then those injuries would take their toll
