Operation Minibus - Another success

WSSWSS
edited May 2007 in General Charlton
Just like to make my thanks to Ketters public after a successful follow up to the Blackburn minibus operation. Great organising!

Despite the horrendous traffic on the M62, hunting down a lost soul, our driver nearly falling asleep ("MONTY!!! Wake up!!!!") and getting home at 1.30 i had another absolutely brilliant away day.

made me look forward to next year even more.

  • Seconded good work ketters, can we try getting 1 with a toilet next time so stu, carlsberg and pork pie dont make us pull over every other service area.

I think everyone is still to surface WSS i got in at 2.30 and run roughly an 1 + 1/2 late for work!!

Got off with the ginger bird as well ;-)
  • Getting to bed at 2.30am this morning after drinking from around 8.00am was pretty tough. Great laugh again though guys (& Girl). Definately worth doing a few Championship ones next year, think Monty needs a rest for the summer though.
  • I feel more drunk this morning than i did yesterday! Stu has been flitting about but i think everyone else is pretty mangled.

He told me he had to be up at 6 this morning to do the school run. Poor sod.
  • Ketters - I actually saw you in the crowd on the stream I was watching!

These far East TV channels will show anything! ;o)

We got a call from Carter who was also watching abroad & he said he saw us on Telly, thankfully I was not wearing one of those GInger beards we brought along.
  • Stu you snore like a walrus mate
  • Great day out, a good laugh and managed to meet 2 old friends, one of who I didn't even know was a Charlton fan (met him just after half time, which is why I disappeared)

Head is pounding this morning and I feel rather rough but all worth it, even getting home at 3am after having to direct the cabbie to Charlton!

Thanks a lot Ketters, once again perfectly organised.
  • Comical moment me to the chief steward 'what did he get thrown out for?' reply 'Over celebrating'

the bare faced cheek of celebrating tut tut

  • When I woke Simon up at Dartford he looked like a space cadet & that was after his sleeping the Whole 6 hours back. He got up & forgot to take his mobile which luckily I noticed he had dropped. I think he lives somewhere near the station although I would not be too confident of him actually making it back home looking at the state we left him in.
  • The clench fist salute he gave as we pulled away in the early hours showed how out of it he still was!!
  • From what I remember Sco took some great pics of the day which I am looking forward to seeing on here later in the week.

Yeah the photo's should be good when they all emerge quite a few have been missing on here today

Still least it was only light drizzle on the back to the city centre

MEDDERS must have taken the day
  • Thanks again Ketman. Monty was drifting off by Northampton! Got loads of shots - Bourne you sly ol' dog you - that ging is a fitty!

    Simon is "alive and embarrassed"

Whose idea was all those sambucas?
  • I've just bowled into work now. No cabs at Sbourne, so finally make it to bed at 3. Rolled past Sittingbourne station on the way to work, to see a Fosters box and Sainsburys back where they were left last night... any ideas who they belonged to?

What's this about a ginger bird Dyer, you filthy rogue?

    Raspberry sambuca. Hmmmmm.

Cheers again to Ketters for organising another quality day out.
  • I remember seeing the sign 45 miles to Birmingham & it was nearly midnight I think, knew then It was gonna be a late one.

Who is this Ginger Bird then Bourne ? It wasn't Ollie's missus was it ? LOL

I am really pleased Simon is OK, felt really bad about saying we are gonna have to leave him, then he finally answers his phone as we leave, talk about cutting it fine.

I think the Sambucca Idea was mine initially, but it was supposed to be a quick one before we left, not sure what happened after that think you can claim responsibility for that Sco..! :-)
  • All in good time boys im sure Sco has photographic evidence!!
  • The last Zambucca i thought "that just smells like fruit juice" then it went down my throat and almost knocked me over.

I have just seen a pic of WSS with about 40 "shot" glasses in front of him!

Got some good shots of Anfield I'll post up here later in the week - the others will be winding their way to your mailbox in good time!

    Ketman - she fell over!

    Sorry to hear that fella.

We nearly had another "leftbehind", the only problem was that he came up with us! Luckily Skint managed to grab him as he was sitting on a train heading to Euston...lucky git!

    Well done ketmaster! Great day.
Took me longer to walk home than i thought through pitch black country lanes and along the river. It was the most petrifying walk ive ever experienced. Got in at tooth hurty as well.
I'm never taking a beach ball to football again.

I could post that pic of carter on here but it mite offend the lady users what do you reckon? it is one of the funniest pics ive ever seen.
