Should we sue Wham? I don't think so...

As furious as I am about what they've done and how unjust it all is, I don't see what Charlton have to gain from being one of the teams involved in any legal action. We'd still be down whether they had points deducted or not. We need to focus all our finances and energy on getting back to the Prem. Unless lots of other teams join in, including some of the big boys, I don't see why we should carry the can for endeavouring to uphold the morals of the game in this situation, when it will literally be to our cost.

  • Absolutely Weegie,

Concentrate on building the squad for, and taking the championship by storm next season.
  • West Ham being the Premiership, instead of being in the Championship with us, is a good thing for us
  • It isn't about suing West Ham but the cruds who failed to make the right decision.
  • I agree.

West Ham have cheated their way out of this but it is a totally hollow achievement. The integrity of the game is at an all time low & there is quite obviously a pecking order when it comes to applying rules. Good luck to them for escaping & i am glad they are not in with us next season.
  • Rationally I agree. But it stinks.

I still love Charlton, but I think this has probably been the final nail in the coffin for my love for the game as a whole in this country.
  • We have to make some type of stand against this - the next time something shady happens, it could be us that pays the price. What goes around comes around.
  • Emotionally I'm with you, aliwibble, and on principle with you, NYA. I just can't help feeling we'd be on a complete hiding to nothing, and in the end we have to put ourselves first, rather than be the game's moral guardians. After all, that's meant to be the job of the administrators: PL or FA. They are the ones who have wimped out.

Fully with you there NYA, if we have got principles then we should try to teach the Premier League about them - even though West Ham's relegation would be to our disadvantage. It is about right and wrong

Yeah we won't change the decision, but the Prem League need to be shaken from their complacency and favouritism - we have to show that some of us believe in things being done the right way.

  • If Tevez had scored the winner at The Valley, then yes. We have nothing to gain from it as we finished second from bottom. The rest of the Prem league should do something about it.

I heard someone suggest that west ham should been fined £30M or take a points reduction, letting them make the decision. I think that this is what should have happened.
