Went to a funeral of a longstanding Charlton supporter, Ted Blanden, 83, a lovely old boy, ex-RAF, who's supported us through thick and thin (mostly thin). The vicar turned out to be the chaplain for Millwall FC, but with Ted being Charlton (along with most of the congregation), one of his son's insisted the vicar wear a Charlton scarf throughout the service, which he did with good grace. It put a smile on everyone's face and set the tone for service full of good humour and warmth.
Nice one, vicar. RIP Ted

Ted'll be ok up there... it is heaven remember, WE always beat the Spanners up there!
Soapy - In heaven we get the draw I reckon.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and wishes.
Thank you Father Owen for having the grace and humour to wear Dad's scarf.... we all loved it and Dad would have been rolling with laughter!
That vicar did my aunties funeral last year, my cousins Addick husband had a chuckle when he spotted the lion on his business card when they were organising everything. He seemed like a very decent fella and he did a really nice service.
For yours and all our sakes, I really hope @soapy_jones is right. We can't have been through all the pain on earth, not to finally put one over on them!
Worth letting the club know so his name goes on the big screen on memorial day.
