Season 16/17 Sky Bet

edited May 2016 in General Charlton
Charlton are quoted as 14/1 to win the League outright and 9/2 to gain promotion. We are behind Sheff Utd, MK Dons, Bolton and Oxford on both bets.

Wonder what the odds will be after we have announced new manager and players at the start of the season?

OXFORD??? - Why are they so high on the list?

Not a clue mate, just looking at the odds and they are 12/1 to win the league and 4/1 to get promotion
  • What are we to go down?

I'd put Northampton ahead of them seeing that they won League Two.

(Although as you say, those odds could have changed for Northampton if they lose Wilder to us)

Only promotion odds published so far for all the leagues.

Last 6 seasons a team promoted from league 2 have finished in the top 6 of league 1 the following season.

Bookmakers always price up newly promoted teams in this division badly.

Last two seasons. Rotherham and Burton have done back to back promotions.

Maybe they've found a rich Arab or Russian?

Wait until fixtures are out and lump on whoever we're at home to last game to win the title....

Especially if they begin with B.

    That'll probably be Bolton then

Have we hit a new low? We have a thread asking are Burton the smallest team to be in a division above us, but now are Oxford ahead of us in the food chain too?

    Another 0-3 to clinch it

Surely these kid of coincidences and stats are ones jeff stelling goes crazy for.
  • Bristol Rovers will be above us, aren't they now owned by Middle Eastern Billionaires who clearly have some sense having just got them promotion

No - Jeff loves to remind you it's your team's first win at Rotherham since 1963 yet overlooking the fact we had probably only played there a couple of times since then. This sort of stat belongs on the General things that annoy you thread.
