  • I hope so. I normally arrive in time to watch the warm up each week and think he has something to offer. The Gills thought he had a bit to learn positionally (as you'd expect) but is a decent shot stopper.

If he does alright at Scousers I'd be tempted to get someone in like Simon Royce who doesn't mind getting splinters in the nether regions but can do a job if needed.

If we are going back to a past keeper, then surely Deano would be worth a punt if he was available?

Deano wouldn't want to sit on the bench though otherwise I would agree with you.

I'm assuming Darren is number one if he shows the ability. Royce would be a reliable deputy for injury /loss of confidence.
  • If scott carson was to leave that would leave us really short, i really hope that darren doesn't have a nightmare on sunday, liverpool really need to win and hope that arsenal don't score more goals than them, also could be fowlers last game, hope scott copes with the big occasion.
  • I don't think Darren Randolph is anywhere near good enough to be a regular number one - positional sense is critical for a keeper, and if he hasn't got it by now, then I don't think supporting his learning curve in the first team is a good idea.
  • how do we know he hasn't got positional sense, have you watched him a lot?

I was thinking about Deano coming back as No 1 with Randolph as No 2

I saw him pre-season at Hibs and was not impressed - got badly caught out twice. Len's comemnts re Gillingham's view supported this.
  • god i'm optimistic about tomorrow now! ;)

A wee bit worrying, isn't it? A departing hat-trick from Fowler?? Hope Darren proves me wrong!

  • I would love to see Charlton win, when West Ham played at Wigan a few weeks ago, we saw loads of Charlton fans going up to Blackburn, you deserve to be in the Premier league and I would like to see you end with a win.
