End of Days

It's five minutes before kick off and I should be at The Valley cheering my team on; but I'm not. Fifty plus years of following the Addicks, and I've seen promotions, relegations; Wembley finals; and even painted the gates prior to us going back to the Valley. Had many years involved with the Junior Reds travelling all over the country (hopefully instilling the passion I felt for Charlton) into the kids. But no more. The club I knew, run by people with Charlton in their hearts who were always approachable is gone, probably for ever. So I have come to the sad conclusion that I can no longer relate to what's happening in SE7 now.
Until the almost criminally incompetent regime that has ruined our club have departed I will not return (I'm not getting too personal here but I simply cannot understand the 3,000 or so people who have renewed their season tickets) are they among those who regularly call for Roland and Meire to go? Take part in marches and throw beach balls onto the pitch?
Like thousands of others, I will follow the results and will always support the club - my club, not yours Roland - but for now it really is the End of Days.

  • Top three after four games, would be in top half of table if season had started 1st March ...it's the crap with Fraeye that relegated us more than anything.
  • Good post and well said, agree with you totally. Watching on Sky and never felt so sad about my football club.
  • I went through this a few weeks ago. Now, I just larf at it all. The pain has gone and been replaced by ridicule.

    ROLAND OUT!!!!!!
    ROLAND OUT!!!!!!
  • Was at the game!!! Today waved goodbye 60 years supporting them
not going back until there is a change.
    Sad
  • Welly just like you my friend I have supported Charlton since 1957 through thick and thin but I am now not renewing my ST until this cancer is cut out of OUR club. I am hurting like he'll but it must be done.
WE WILL WIN IN THE END.
