Am I correct in saying...

We have not had a penalty all season?

That a first?

Comments

  • We had them all last year.
  • 2004-5 season we didn't get any penalties either I don't think.
  • From 86 to 90 we didn't get one away penalty. I may have made that up.

But what a very special season it was.
  • Who would you have had taking them this season?

I would have imagined Roland would have wanted to take them himself - if he ever got anywhere near the ground on a matchday...

Would have been very possible had he setup his Xbox Kinect to the Stream...

I heard on the radio that we are the only team in the top four divisions not to have a penalty this season .

It evens out over the season though. Expect at least 8 on Saturday.

And while you're on the pitch you can take the first two :-)
  • so we're a failure at penalties as well.
  • Ahearne-Grant scored one at Peterborough in the League Cup
  • I remember in the first season back in the top flight in 86/87 we had to wait until the last game of the season at "home" to QPR(?) to get a penalty. We scored, we won, we ended up in the play-offs.

The next penalty came in the very next game, away to Ipswich in the first leg. Paul Cooper saved it. Didn't do the Tractor Boys any good though!

You are right we did not get a single away penalty during the 1st Division Seasons. Or as Lennie Lawrence put it, the last time we got a penalty away Christ was a Carpenter
  • From 86 to 90 we didn't get one away penalty. I may have made that up.

Of the 8 occasions that we played on Merseyside during that time, I think we had 7 pens given against us.

Maybe this is the new idea.

A team of Roger Johnsons are fitted up with a controlling exoskeleton and we set up a new robo-league where talented FIFA 17 players move the team from the Belgian bunker.

It's the new vision of football I tell you.
  • JBG would take them if we got any

I remember Mark Reid scoring our first penalty of the season in the final game against QPR one year at Selhurst!
