    11am. First day of test. Wife and kids out. Beers in the fridge. HUGE bowl of crisps. Lying on the sofa watching the teams walking to the middle.

    Anyone seen this new bloke Kaushik play for Gujarat Lions? - what a contortionist ! Just taken 3 wickets ( 1 ro) in his first over. I think batsmen are surprised where the ball comes from when he bowls.

    Going to get over to Trent bridge this summer for an evening of 20/20 or whatever its called.test cricket seems very slow to me but from what I've seen of 20/20 it's fast and furious...... couple of beers under the floodlights seems appealing.

    The older I've got, the more I've come to love cricket. Test matches are one of my very favourite things in the world and listening to TMS is like having a warm, fuzzy cloak of contentment wrapped around your shoulders.....ahhhhh

    Shame Kent are pants at the moment, but hey-ho!

    I don't mind my cricket at all - like it in fact.

    But made me giggle recently when I had yank friends round and put a test match on to show my mate.

    After about 30 mins when feck all happened - he looked at me confused and said "Is this basically a shit version of baseball?"

    And he hates baseball.
