Just been contemplating a potential starting XI for our opener at Accrington next season. Take your boots just in case. Not so much a catalogue of crimes by that wretched creature, more an encyclopedia.
How the bloody hell would she know if we'll have on of the top six budgets? No one has spent a penny yet. Have all the other CEO's phoned you up and told you what they're spending Katy?
The worse bit in that quote though is "hopefully... we can rebuild". Hopefully rebuild!?!?!? Never mind about getting promotion, our CEO isn't even sure if they can put a decent team together. Then again, she knows how out of her depth she is and what a stinking pile of worthless garbage her boss is. I suppose being hopeful is just about as good as it will ever get.
Maybe the 'hopefully' rebuild part is when 'Huh' was over he's told her he's putting no more money in so she'll have to work within whatever turnover there is, therefore we've got bob hope of any rebuild (to any sort of quality).
She should be embarrassed by the words that come out of her mouth. They know they are not wanted and what the club means to thousands of people. Prolonging this, now relegation is confirmed, is shameful.
Oh dear, how poor can a CEO be. "Come to our restaurant, we aim to give you an average meal and a not great, but an OK, evening out".
Talk about live the dream. Clueless.
But you'd have a unique (meaning weird) customer experience in which you'll be served by {...} promising young waiters who will go on to work at some of the biggest and best restaurants in the country.
They just don't care. Player farming is the mission statement. If they think they can quell the protests by suggesting we should have lower expectations then they will be surprised, again. The problem goes far deeper than just losing games or being relegated. This regime has destroyed the special relationship we have enjoyed with our club in a little over 2 years. If they don't go perhaps we should find out what really matters to them and give them a taste of their own medicine. Who knows, they might finally hear us and either change direction or find an easier club to manipulate. Standard Leige fans were forced into extreme action before Duchetelet got the message. I hope he learned something from that before he forces the Charlton fans to consider upping their game still further.
Changed her tune since last week. "Our sole aim is to be fighting for promotion next season and our top priority is to put together a squad that can help Charlton Athletic get back into the Championship."
"We don't want to build up expectations. Will have one of top six budgets in League 1. Hopefully on the back of a successful season, we can rebuild."
She said:
"We want everyone to get behind the team. We will have the top budget in League 1. We will have a successful season, we can rebuild, we will get promoted and back on our path to the Premiership".
We'd have all given her just as much stick as 'here we go, lying again', 'lies lies lies', 'they wouldn't know how to get promoted' etc
The relationship (if you can call it that) between the regime and us the fans has become so toxic they may as well just say nothing (although we will berate them for that as well)...... whatever she says, we will never believe them.
Even they must now realise that they have no other option but to sell. I sincerely hope they have realised and are in discussions with relevant potential buyers, thats what I want to believe anyway.
I agree the relationship is toxic enough to the point of no return. I disagree however that she will be ridiculed ...whatever she says so it almost doesn't matter.
People can generally tell whether someone does, or doesn't give a shit about something. She will not put her heart and soul into this job. It's called being selfish and being lazy. Her employer appears to also have given her the green light to not massively have to care that much.
She could start with being honest about how bad everything has gotten (we can all see it including the media, stop continuously living in denial) and how she truly regrets her negative input towards the outcome of what is now weekly protests.
This woman has no fight in her. She is not willing enough to open up in the correct way, whatever the reaction or outcome would be to it. Perhaps scared of rejection.
She can or could, still, with dignity at least make a heart full attempt to understand how the fans feel, apologise and acknowledge what the perception is towards the regime and perhaps why that is.
She may not be able to win people back, but she could still make people think.
Her problem is, she just cannot admit to being wrong. That would be a starting point. She simply doesn't want to give other people the apparent satisfaction. It's like some kind of stubborn childish sibling rivalry. Or she's simply just a b*tch and I'm giving her too much credit.
Have a re-think and start again Katrien...
"I can truly understand the reasons why season ticket sales are likely to be much lower next season. It's a big combination of things. This season has been a disaster and it's one where we only have ourselves to blame. Everyone from myself, the whole management from top to bottom, the team and the excessive amount of 3 different managers we have had, have all not been good enough.
I have made an amount of deep regretful mistakes in the running of this club that I really wish did not happen as they have clearly broken down my personal general relationship with the Charlton fans. I'm very upset it has turned out this way.
I assure you, I will not make certain mistakes again and I will understand and be more respectful. We will do everything, what we can to put this right again, for the fans. I don't expect protests to come to an end in the next coming weeks but I hope after some hard work and careful thinking that we can at least make Charlton supporters once again see light at the end of the tunnel.
The club is currently not for sale but we will of course need to review the situation again now and then in a years time maybe see and decide what is ultimately best for Charlton Athletic"
^ that would in parts still get taken the piss out of, and deservedly so, but it's just a lot more respectful and acceptable then the routinely crap she usually says. She needs to dig very very deep if she does infact want to say sorry and be partially forgiven. Is it worth doing? Of course it f*cking is!
Actions will still always speak louder then words.
Just to be absolutely certain, because things can get lost in translation, it was definitely top 6 budget, and not budgie...
Because I, somehow or other, find the latter more believable.
On the one hand, it might well be the case that the only reason it's a "top six budget" is because 90% of it will be going to useless and/or injured players we already have on the books and can't offload to anyone else. (I give you, inter alios, Naby Sarr and Relegation Roger.) Not to mention all the new staff they say they want to recruit: Director of Football, Chief Scout, etc, etc.
It might be true but provide absolutely no money for the desperately needed new blood.
But, on the other hand, as all the other teams would presumably cite "commercial sensitivity" if anyone asked what their budget is, how would she even know?
Having a "top 6" budget (undisclosed) doesn't mean a thing if the money is wasted on unfit, useless and inadequate shite; just look at the crap that we've bought in the last couple of years.
Also, given the clubs likely to be in Division Three next season there aren't too many with deep coffers. To be honest CARD would probably have a top 6 budget compared to a lot of these teams.

Saying the first thing that comes into her head or is it a serious medical condition? Something behavioural there to be so constant.
Perhaps she is just grooming herself for her next big role as a politician in Rolly's failed Party?
"HOPEFULLY ON THE BACK OF A SUCCESFUL SEASON WE CAN REBUILD........." Can somebody please, please .please, for the love of GOD explain to me this rididculous statement????? Oh, i get it,succesful in terms of the fact that she and RD still have control of everything, nothing whatsoever to do with football, fans, relationships, promotion, stability, jobs, prospects "customer satisfaction"etc etc etc
"WE DONT WANT TO BUILD EXPECTATIONS.......". but then, "HOPEFULLY ON THE BACK OF A SUCCESFUL SEASON WE CAN REBUILD" "To build or not to build, that is the question" The answer:"JUST BOG RIGHT OFF"

It is a bit unclear what a successful season would look like as this is not explained or defined (promotion / play offs / mid table / not being relegated to league 2/ Meire staying in her job and having a nice holiday, despite complete failure). Charlton supporters should not have too high expectations so it is impossible to pin down what she means. Not exactly a rallying call to supporters.
How and what rebuilding looks like and what is being rebuilt ( team / support base / Academy / finances / reducing the large club debt to Staprix) is not spelled out either. It does look like one of the positive sounding statements that does not actually mean anything at all.

Totally pointless to avoid using experienced English L1 players and coaches.
Leave.
For your sake,
Leave quick.

Cretins, the pair of them.

Well done KM et al for removing all hope before even the end of this season.
