Shocked and she was only 62.
Saw her live at the Albert Hall years ago and she was very good.
Loved Acorn Antiques, Dinner Ladies and her stand up stuff. Sharp and clever stuff.
That's really thrown me.
RIP

I have been in numerous pub conversations when people have said "I just don't find female comedians funny"
"Oh apart from Victoria Wood"
Such sad news to continue a sad year.
Bloody cancer again as well.

A real shame. I too saw her at the Royal Albert Hall, sometime towards the end of the nineties. Very funny and witty comedian/writer who will be greatly missed.

Enjoyed her standup but must confess to being left cold by Dinner Ladies. Just never found it even remotely funny. RIP though. Far too young!

Gutted. Great silly comedy songs, observational stand-up, sitcoms etc and by all accounts a lovely person as well. A great loss. RIP
