    As you say, nothing new.
I disagree with the point about the small squad size though. This is what the OS says is the current first team squad - if it's not accurate don't blame me.

    1. Stephen Henderson
    2. Yun Suk-Young
    3. Ahmed Kashi
    4. Johnnie Jackson
    5. Patrick Bauer
    6. Naby Sarr
    7. Johann Berg Gudmundsson
    8. Jordan Cousins
    9. Simon Makienok
    10. Cristian Ceballos
    11. Callum Harriott
    12. Alou Diarra
    14. Igor Vetokele
    15. Rod Fanni
    16. Reza Ghoochannejhad
    18. Karlan Ahearne-Grant
    19. Zakarya Bergdich
    20. Chris Solly
    21. Morgan Fox
    22. El-Hadji Ba
    23. Joe Pigott
    24. Regan Charles-Cook
    25. Yaya Sanogo
    26. Harry Lennon
    27. Dimitar Mitov
    28. Roger Johnson
    30. Nick Pope
    31. Mikhail Kennedy
    34. Terell Thomas
    35. Josh Umerah
    37. Ademola Lookman
    38. Ezri Konsa
    39. Diego Poyet
    47. Marco Motta
    50. Jorge Teixeira

George Tucudean (on loan at ASA Târgu Mureș until the end of the 2015/16 season)
Dillon Phillips (gk) (on loan at Cheltenham Town until the end of the 2015/16 season)
Marko Dmitrovic (gk) (on loan at AC Alcorcon until the end of the 2015/16 season)
Tony Watt (on loan at Blackburn Rovers until the end of the 2015/16 season)
Oliver Muldoon (on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge until the end of the 2015/16 season)
Joe Pigott (on loan at Luton Town until the end of the 2015/16 season)
Tareiq Holmes-Dennis (on loan at Oldham Athletic until the end of the 2015/16 season)

That's 42 players. More than ample numbers - even taking out the smattering of yoof inclusions.

What is missing is in-depth quality.

Three keepers plus two decent players for each position should be adequate. That's 23 in total.

Even Premier League squads are only 25 plus the under 21s.

Should we be running five keepers - no. That's just one example. The list is all a bit "never mind the quality feel the width"

Don't forget that 7 of those players were brought in during the last transfer window.

It is well documented that the squad was not big enough (Not enough quality players, not number of players) and nothing was done until it was too late.

    That's the squad now

Take out the players who've come in the last two months and the kids who've little or no experience and it isn't really a squad.

We started the season with something like 22 players including 3 keepers. And many of those players were new to England and/or had played little football the previous season (Big Mak for example).

The squad was too small at the beginning of the season and was soon hit by injuries
  • The squad size point is fair IMO - just that the issue is the number of players of the right calibre and positions in the squad.
  • That first photo of Makienok in that article does him no favours. His hair makes him look like Beaker from the Muppets
