The number will be much easier to count during a half. If the footballing strategy is as successful as this season, they will post gates of 8,000 with 5,000 being present. It will look like a Queen of the South home game. "Our grounds too big for us."
I think the Club will struggle to achieve a 10,000 average - certainly in respect of paying 'customers'.
I can see them ultimately shifting around 6,000 odd season tickets by the time the season starts in August. On match days, you could envisage the games attracting between 1,500 and 2,500 in respect of 'walk up' support (inflated by present season ticket holders who do not renew) plus an average away support of around 600. Yes, there will be a couple of 'spikes' in respect of local opposition (although Millwall or Gillingham may bypass us) and 'Football For A Fiver' but the midweek attendances, in particular, are likely to be dismal. With the exception of Sheffield United, how many supporters are the northern teams likely to bring, especially the smaller ones ?
It's a vicious circle: the more supporters rattle around in the stadium, the less likely they are to come back. As Roland would say, it's all about the matchday experience.
The response of Katrien and Tony Cahones is likely to be to try and shovel out large numbers of complementary tickets to in a desperate attempt to mask the decline. Apart from the fact that freebies generate no meaningful income, our esteemed CEO will learn very quickly that League 1 football has a limited appeal to the casual punter.
We will be fine, we are still an attractive club to new customers, an example being that taxi driver who gave up being a customer at Tottenham so he could watch us tumble down in to football obscurity instead of watching them compete for the Premier League title and in the Champions League next season.........
Everyone has assumed you mean: how few spectators will attend matches? Roly seems more interested in how low - as in "criminal" - will our behaviour be?
As for attendances - more spanners will go to the Valley for their one away fixture there than Charlton fans will turn up all season, if Doeshitalot remains at the helm of the tramp steamer FKA Charlton Athletic FC
When RD sells up, KM goes home, a proper owner takes their place, a proper manager takes charge and the right investments are made in the team this summer, we'll average just under twenty thousand.
If the above doesn't happen, I don't think anyone really cares. I won't be in the crowd, RD is *never* in the crowd, the owners don't care just as long as they can keep adding to Charlton's debt. There won't be crowds in five-figures before the end of 2016, unless we get a juicy draw in the First Round of the FA Cup. Someone like... Morecambe.

What is it with Charlton life and people's height?
