Anyone know if I buy it on ppv whether I can record it and watch it later?
Not sure how BT works - but if it's like Sky then I believe you can record it as long as you book it via the red button (or whatever). If you book it online or by phone then you can't record it.
Taken 4/5 on Wilder. Can’t get my head around that people seem to have forgotten all Fury has fought in 3 years is two doorman and struggled with that
I think thats the main question mark over Fury, Fury in full flow there would be no contest. Wilder still hasn't really impressed and hasn't fought anyone, surprised he is favourite to be honest but thats due to his record and Fury not fighting anyone of late.
agreed re. Wilder - His only test has been Ortiz and he won that pretty much by virtue of Ortiz being old enough to draw a pension, Ortiz outclassed him until he got caught, thats Wilder's only hope

But Wilder's 'caught' sends most to sleep straightaway. He'll almost certainly land one of his big overhand rights.

It could well be the same with Fury though, Fury the better fighter jabbing away, well ahead on points, but one good hit and he could be in trouble. Prime Fury would be as safe as houses but with only two fights and against poor opposition? He should still win but one or two mistake could undo him.

I genuinely don't care who wins as I find them both to be thoroughly unlikable people.
However, I do hope one of them (either of them) gets knocked spark out.
@bobmunro can I make a bet that they both throw a wild punch at the same time in the third round and knock each other out simultaneously. If so, what odds do I get, how much can I put on and any tips as to avoiding a match fixing charge gratefully received (posted for a friend)

Yarde is off the card now. I can't wait for this fight I am leaning towards a fury ko and @ 6/1 will have to have a little bet on it. If wilder lands his right hand it's game over though but can see fury timing him with a counter and finishing him.
I still think Fury will be a clear points winner as he is a far better boxer than Wilder. My main concern remains that the judges award the fight to Wilder or give it as a draw. Some of the boxing decisions given over the last couple of years have been truly ridiculous.
Still think the strain Fury has put on his body over the last few years will have an impact.
Think it will come down to Stamina. Fury might be able to stop the Wilder bombs early on but if it drags on, which I think it will ,then Fury becomes very vulnerable.
This all depends on which Fury shows up. If it's the amorphous blob that fought the last two times he'll do about as well as Audley Harrison did against Wilder. If he's somehow the Fury that fought Wlad, then that belt is changing hands.
I don't think British boxing fans have been this delusional since the run up to Hatton-Mayweather. My money is on Fury going down early.
I don't think you can compare Wilder and Mayweather. Mayweather was a class apart and had taken on a lot of genuinely decent fighters as he moved up
Wilder not fit to lace Floyd's gloves I'm afraid
Look, if Fury can avoid eating a telegraphed sidewinder and has the fitness and conditioning to do 12 rounds he can win. Anyone gives Wilder an opening they get knocked out
Fury is a master of leaning and weaving away from shots while leaving his feet in range for pop shot returns. Wilder needs to throw the right hand but switch to the body as often as possible, he’ll have a much higher landed percentage if he goes to the body more. Otherwise he’ll be hitting air most of the night. IF he lands clean he kos anybody imo. Fury has the ability to win this wide.
First fight for a long while I genuinely can’t call. But that’s down to not knowing how Fury is after 3 years.

I think it's pretty much impossible he can still be that Fury after going on a 2 year bender and then struggling past 2 jokers in the past 6 months. Would like to see him win and obviously there's a chance he could, but i still think this fight is probably 2 fights and 8 months too soon. Hope i'm wrong though.

I'm not comparing Wilder and Mayweather's pedigree. It's the overestimation of the British fighter's chances that I'm drawing parallels to.
Following the weigh-in, it has to be said that 40lbs is a huge weight difference, and has to have an effect on the fight. I am racking my brains, and outside of that ridiculous fight that David Haye had to win the title, I am struggling to think of a heavyweight fight with such a massive gap between the fighters.
I know that everyone is focussed on Wilders power shots, but you would think getting clobbered by an opponent THREE stone heavier than you, would have to be extremely concussive across the twelve rounds.
Secondary to that if Fury uses his bulk and weight to lean all over Wilder in the clinches, then that again is going to have a wearying effect over the course of the fight.

Jarrell Miller had an 80 pound advantage over his last opponent. He does come in at around 315lbs though so he is definitely an anomaly
I think Tyson used to fight at around the 15 1/2 stone mark (at least in his early days), but can't even recall him fighting with such a big weight differential.
Big worry for Fury is how that weights effects him in the back end of the fight - if it goes that far.

I see what you are saying, I should probably have been clearer
Wilder isn't the same sort of impossible to beat prospect as Mayweather and Hatton was the main man at Light welter when he fought him at welter. Not only that, bringing about 40,000 British fans out to a fight that only about 10,000 could get tickets for created a perfect storm where we all thought if Hatton could get his punches off inside he had a chance
This fight, Fury has given himself everything to do by having been not only absent from a boxing ring for a long time but he spent it eating and going on the piss, he's in the best physical condition of his life but unless he's had the best sparring ever his 2 exhibition fights are his preparation to fight a man who is possibly the most divisive champion at heavyweight. He can obviously punch but he really hasn't been tested apart from Luis Ortiz who very very nearly knocked him out.
For me Fury is the type of bloke who will make everyone look stupid and box Wilders ears off.
He could also end up getting badly hurt quickly.
I don't think anyone is overestimating Furys chances, certainly not anything like how a lot of us genuinely believed Hatton could beat Floyd
With hindsight it seems ridiculous that Hatton was given a chance against either Mayweather or Pacquioa, he was a good fighter was Ricky, but a couple of classes beneath those two and his 'Recharging' methods between fights always meant that he was facing an uphill struggle.
Top man though, and still very interesting to listen to talking boxing.

Great news this , very happy to see that our very own @LewSmith94 is coming back out of a very early retirement
I know he really appreciated the support that was shown to him and there were reasons why he took a break
Let’s get behind him again
