  • Seen a few tweets this morning saying Saturdays fight hasn't sold the minimum PPV amount required and it will now be free on Sky Main Event, no idea if true but would be pretty embarrassing for Hearn.

It will be pretty costly for Hearn too

I'm not sure I believe this though, the stuff this bloke has toshed out as box office is mental

besides that nearly everyone I know buys the events on the day
  • I watched Tyson Furys interview on GMTV with Piers Morgan, Fury seems to have cleared his head, and dumped a load of timber, he came over as a decent fella, Im looking forward to his return.

That's silly if the case as non sky sports customers won't be able to ppv it so they'd be losing that revenue.

If that happens what are the options to watch it (other than stream) sign up for Now TV?
  • No chance that happens imo

Massive majority of people that buy it do so on the day anyway.
  • There is an account on Twitter 'BoxingKingdom14' which is actually pretty decent for news etc.

However, there is a spoof account 'BoxingKingdomI4' which sends out bullshit rumours...but because of the popularity of the original account it catches a lot of people out.
  • Never in doubt, unlike the fight itself Bellew and Haye must be bricking it that the Boxer formally Known as the Hayemaker might break a nail or fracture a hair folic

will not have sold well due to Haye keeping his gob shut, tbh not even sure i will purchase this one which is saying something

Still had all whats left in the Paddy power act on Tony to Win cant see there being any other change to the outcome,

The fact Haye is saying he will retire even if he wins but doesnt win in style or quickly tells you all you need to know, The balsa wood is splintered and he knows this is the last fight

I have heard that he has not sparred anyone of note and stopped sparring 6 weeks ago totally that is not good

His timing and distance will be shot like last time, he will over reach and have more chance of injuring the shoulder that is not held together with anything but bubble gum
  • This will be a shit fight. I'm not even going to bother streaming it. (I'm sure I'll crack). The undercard is nothing too special... wouldn't mind seeing Joyce. And the name "Money Powell IV" is intriguing. With a name like that, no wonder they don't want to let it go.

I'm not sure it will be a great bout but Thomas v Joyce is a brave match by Hayemaker

I just hope Haye is fit and has sparred properly the last fight was horrible to watch. I would like Haye to win as Bellew drives me up the wall with all the tripe that comes out his mouth.

I'd put money on Haye if pushed as if he gets 50% back of what he had he will iron Bellew out. I've got a nasty feeling my mate with the big hairy swingers @nth london addick has called this about right

I think Joyce said he didn't ant to hang about, so will probably be in a few tight matches... and may even lose a couple.

If Hay han't prepared properly, he's in trouble. Easily would spark Bellend in his prime, but those days are gone. This is a circus.

Any ideas why Haye is 8/15 favourite?
  • Got tickets to the original Haye Bellew 2 that got cancelled so I’ve been waiting for this a long while. Looking forward to it but most looking forward to Joyce vs Thomas as my brother and I saw Joyce’s professional debut so would be nice to see him win the commonwealth. My first Matchroom show so should be a good experience

Because a lot of people, me included think Bellew only won because Haye ruptured his Achilles. Problem is now, whilst Haye looks in insane shape he performed awfully by not doing the basics. Also if he lands something on Bellew it's game over
  • Am I completely misremembering the first then that Haye dominated until his glass ankle broke? Tbh I haven't been that bothered rewatching or following any of the build up to this clown show.

I think Haye was on for a points win had it continued in the same vein before the injury however (from vague recollection) Bellew was very much in the fight and would have been intriguing as to how it panned out in the later rounds with both tiring.

Injury was very frustrating in that respect albeit it wiped the slate clean for Haye after "toe-gate" after the epic bravery he demonstrated by not throwing in the towel despite being completely incapacitated in boxing terms. Can't recall feeling so much sympathy before for a fighter in such circumstances.
  • You have to remember Haye has 1 attribute and that was KO power , now in the first fight he was ahead on the cards granted before the ankle ,

BUT he had hit Bellew with two cracking punches that Bellew felt but did not feel any concern with

That broke Hayes heart he realised that he didn’t have the ko power during that fight

Bellews game plan was to come to take haye in to the late rds and I give haye all the respect for fighting on through that injury but without it I think Bellew would’ve won late regardless

The fight plan went out the window haye on one leg looking for the most ridiculous shots meant that Bellew has to box different and also threw him mentally slightly

This time rd haye is a stone lighter so is going to look to dance and move , again tonight someone who would know has said to me that haye has not sparred anyone of sort and has not sparred in the last 6 weeks

Due to injury fears that is not anywhere near the prep required for this fight

The only thing I give to make this a 60-40 Bellew is the yr out , ring rust will play a big part

Don’t rate Joyce domestic level at best and although the Thomas fight will be a challenge tbh Thomas ain’t a great commonwealth champ and papa rhino gave him that belt with the worst performance of a British heavyweight in a long while

I disagree about Haye only having one trick as a knockout artist. It's his speed and always has been that has got him the wins he has. I can punch, Haye is one of those who has a gorgeous technique for a left, right one two and the speed he delivered that was the difference. Enzo Maccarenelli could always bang and wasn't slow but the difference between him and Haye 11 (fucking hell it doesn't seem that long ago!) years ago was massive

If Haye works behind his jab he will walk a 12 round unanimous decision which is what I'd do if I was him. What he'll probably do is go head hunting which will be a huge mistake given his lack of live opposition
  • Speed goes first mate always in all sports I meant in the last fight Haye had one weapon

Not in his career he was at one time an awesome boxer one of the best speed timing technique

Then he got a dodgy toe and his arsehole went along with his speed

    This.

Couple of us going to this but not sure why to be honest. Anyway we’ll have a good cuff in Greenwich beforehand. Hopefully no bin dippers in the vicinity,

  • Haye looks extremely light for this fight
  • Now Rio’s boxing career has been tragically cut short - he can concentrate on being ITK on the Charlton takeover.
  • Would’ve made a mockery of the sport had been allowed to continue
  • http://youtu.be/3_2600uVMYE?a

When this happens you know they ain’t sold enough PPV

    A nothing fight.
  • Adam Moralee yesterday...I've never seen a better impression of a TV character by someone not trying to do an impression of a TV character.

He 100% was being genuine and all anyone could think of was Will from Inbetweeners. Uncanny
  • Why and where did he come from and why would you have him promoting David Haye is beyond me
  • Bellew did not find this funny one bit. Seems he likes to take the piss out of people smaller than him but doesn’t like being taken the piss out of. Bully behavior that.
