Would be interesting to see Cox at Middleweight Obviously GGG has most of the belts on lockdown but think he'd be a threat to the other top guys
Hopefully GGG will be busy with Canelo again. A fight against Saunders would be Cox’s best option but I would take Billy Joe everyday.
BJS would school Cox
Jamie Cox I suspect is a dream opononet for Billy Joe, I also thought he was a dream oppnonent for George Groves. The only way Chris Eubank beats Groves is by absolutely mutilating him early on. NO way does Eubank punch anywhere near as hard as Groves nor does he have the accuracy of punching to trouble and take Groves into water that's he's been in before nor to bother him.
HOWEVER he could take the fight into 12 rounds and to a decision which, given the penalty shoot out way of boxing judges buys him a ticket. Groves knocks out Eubank and Smith for my money
It's a genuinely good match up, Lemieux is well capable of ironing anyone at middleweight out. Billy-Joe should box his ears off if he boxes to his undoubted ability
I'll be honest I'd never heard of Cox. Thought he looked sprightly but by going for it he was open to a thump. That body shot would take anyone out. Good fight.
I think Groves looks shot tbh. And old. Feat body shot but what has happened to groves' jab??? Used to have one of best in the business.
I feel Eubank stops groves rounds 9-12. I was a huge Groves fan but he looks a ko waiting to happeb agaib. Eubank has his old mans chin and will swarm groves when he tires like he always does.

What makes you say that about Eubank Jnr's chin? He's been hit by no one of any note. Groves has a big shot on him so will be the first time his chin has been reallly tested as a pro.
I'm edging more towards thinking that Eubank Jnr will win it on points, but would prefer to see Groves win. Hoping to get tickets for it as it'll definitely be a great fight.
Chris Eubank looks the part and is obviously in great shape, I don't think he is powerful enough at the weight personally. I think he's quick enough but we'll see how quick and willing to engage he is once he gets a big one in the head from Groves. Groves is a far more reserved boxer nowadays, I thought at first he was low on confidence following the second Froch loss and I think he probably was however, the way he fought Martin Murray and Chudinov was a lot less gung ho than he fought previously where he also got an opportunity to keep working through every round which shut a few people up. He can't be throwing huge bombs and keep the juice in the tank to be good for 12 rounds, something has to give and I think he's focussed more on his physical conditioning and his engine over 12 rounds than landing massive shots
Loads of trouble at boxing venues over the weekend; big brawl at Groves and someone died at a show in Walsall.
Heard Hearn on the radio this morning saying he's never seen it at a Matchroom show, which I took as bull, largely he saws as they make sure there is adequate security. But seems to me that its more likely than unlikely to happen at events these days.

Steve mcfaddens (Phil Mitchell) character predicted ito in The Firm film when the authorities were clamping down on it at football that it would spread to other sports in his "We'll av' it at the snooker, we'll av' it at the darts" speech at the end.
Alcohol and fighting is ingrained in our culture and add in the high level of coked up scum that increasingly aprear at big boxing "events" it's unsurprising.
Bollocks does it not happen at match room... I had handbags myself once with some wasted northern monkey at froch kessler years back after he was standing up and repeatedly shouting "kill the (n word)" towards the ring and have seen other skirmishes over the years. Pond life.

I don't have much inclination to go to the big ones anymore, secondary selling of tickets pisses me off too much is a minor reason but mostly because they are absolutely stacked with the worst types of people to have at any event especially one where violence, regardless of how scientific or controlled it is, is on show. Even local shows bring out the worst in people now which I put squarely down to cocaine making idiots who can't handle a drink watch one of their mates who has trained and prepared, have a 6 rounder and then think they are Bruce Lee.
Hearn is talking put of his arse saying there is no bother at his shows, he might not see it or be told about it by his security people even if I put aside the fact he's a promoter so is hardly going to advertise the fact that hassle and windmilling goes on at his shows.
The only big show I have been to where I felt there was no chance of needing to stay alert and on guard for fisticuffs was Klitscho v Haye in Hamburg as the German police are so brutal and violent themselves, nobody plays up. And if they do the subsequent avalanche of aggression and brutality the German police dished out was enough to make everyone behave.
And as much as I may get called a racist or be told I'm a bigot the amount of Boxers from the traveller community have added to the chaos and trouble at boxing shows. Try explaining nicely to the 6 gypsies that have sat in your seat the the excel you would like them to move and see what happens. Security people are outright terrified of gypos at boxing events and I don't blame them.

Boxing has always attracted a certain type of punter and crowd violence is nothing new. I remember being at big shows in the 80s and it was just as bad - Minter/Hagler springs to mind.
I agree, Hearn as ever talking out of his arse - he must be blind as I've seen it at many of his shows in the last four/five years.

Have only been to 1 fight Brook V Hatton at the Sheffield Arena, didn't occur to myself & my mate that it was Yorkshire/Lancashire. Within literally minutes of us taking our seats a bloke leapt over us to start wading into some lads from Yorkshire (all completely pissed) and this was around 8 way before the main event. Security was slow, lacking in numbers and shite to be honest. A second fight broke out within the hour about 3 rows back it was pandemonium for about 10 minutes as there were about a dozen people involved. There were other minor scuffles around us throughout the evening. Also I had a row with the bar staff as they were trying to sell us shandy rather than lager in which I eventually demanded that they actually pour my beer from the pump with me actually witnessing it. The people using the toilet facilities were basically animals they just pissed anywhere they wanted. Not a pleasant experience at all and one that has sadly put me off going again.

Very much looking forward to Groves Eubank.
