The University KU Leuven is nearly 600 years old - the question has been asked in the letter sent to the Governing Board whether she dismissed so lightly the history of the University which nurtured her in the same manner that she saw fit to state that 'I don't care about the history of the Club'. There you are: over 100 years of history dismissed in one insulting, unforgiving sentence.
The University rightly cherishes its reputation and Katrien Meire has acted in an unprofessional manner which tarnishes that reputation. The KU should IMO reverse the Alumni prize she was given (which would cause her major embarrassment). It remains to be seen what the KU will do but they must at least discuss the issue and hopefully seek some response from KM although this time there can surely be no excuse or 'linguistic' misunderstanding to be offered. I'm tempted to say that she should offer to return the award but that is not her style so if KU don't act then the best we can hope for is the publicity opportunity in Belgium to expose her ineptitude there and the KU will not like that one little bit (especially the ill-thought out sex-on-the pitch thing).
The 'score at the valley' viral campaign was certainly not the sort of thing a conservative organisation would support, and KM will have had ultimate sign off but her level of involvement remains opaque to me.

Supervising a mass turnover of first team coaches while maintaining that each had been the correct decision because it had brought an improvement in results
Communicating messages that through their content and delivery have led directly to a collapse in attending support and the creation of fan groupings that provide more coordinated, better expressed and more effective communication and publicity.
Being in charge at a time when the club has become a laughing stock in the football world and is well known in the UK and increasingly overseas as a blueprint for how not to run a club.
The above are not positives for an alumna. She is bringing the college into disrepute rather than deserving a prize.

Of course I am not expecting them to rescind the award but the Uni and its Alumni group should rightly be made aware of KMs flawed performance as CEO and her unprofessional behaviour towards the fans and the club by insulting them and the club's history. If nothing else I would hope that somebody has mentioned this affair to her so that she is aware that she simply cannot go around saying and doing the things she does and accept no responsibility for the damage she leaves in her wake. They may have been throw away lines to her (in Ireland and to L'Echo) but they were deeply, deeply damaging and unbecoming of a Chief Exec in any business least of all one where you need the trust of your customer/fan base.

I am still trying to understand why Staprix is considered exempt from producing consolidated accountants - I thought the Belgians would be sticklers for the EU group accounts directive requiring the top EU holding company to produce company accounts. Does anyone know why they appear to be exempt from this requirement.
