How does the coverage work this season? If is mostly Sky sports again with a spattering on channel 4 or does channel 4 have a more comprehensive deal than used to be on the bbc?
I think it will be more exciting than last season in that Ferrari will pose a challenge to Mercedes and we don't just have to hear about how Hamilton or Rosberg have thrown their toys out of the pram every week. I hope Mclaren are better this season, last season was awful, especially with two fantastic drivers.
Basically as long as a greater of element of competition enters into it this season I will be a lot more interested in watching the highlights - speaking of which, will all these by on channel 4?
That all depends Superclive on how many cars are killed................... Seriously though i think Rosberg may win it this year and am thinking one of the smaller may surprise a few peope but just not sure which one?
Channel 4 have just taken over BBC's coverage, so half the races live and the rest highlights. I think that Toro Rosso could be the surprise package this year. I'm hoping that Hamilton gets his act together and puts Rosberg in his place and that Nico's end of season form was only down to Lewis losing his hunger when the title was in the bag. Looking forward to see if Ferrari can mount a proper challenge. Also looking forward to seeing how the new qualifying procedures changes things. Could be carnage.
For the good of the sport Ferrari (or someone at least) must be able to get amongst, and ahead of, the Mercedes on a regular basis. If it's the Hamilton and Rosberg 'show' again this year people will be turning off in their droves.
Reckon Force India are going to be the surprise package.
I do wonder if Hamilton has lost his hunger like you mentioned superclive hence why i think it maybe Rosberg's year.Ive backed him to win it and am still looking at the smaller teams and deciding on which one to support by buying there total season points on the spreads.
I doubt if Lewis has lost his hunger. Just a case of taking it easy when last year's title was in the bag. Didn't see anything this morning to put me off Toro Rosso doing well this season. They've got a good car and two very good young drivers.
Used to like it when there was refueling and lots of mistakes in the pit lanes but now it's a it's as dull as ditch water and Lewis Hamilton epitomises that dullness.
Will have a look at Toro Rosso points was even thinking Manor for a shock and can see Red Bull improving but them to get more than 204 points is a bit risky
Shit qualifying now, the every 90 seconds thing is farcical, especially when teams are sending drivers out with 2 1/2 minutes beforehand and they can't finish the flying lap in time, you need to be thinking 2 or 3 steps ahead of it, but the constraints on refueling and the short lives of the tyres means it's all a damp squib, summed up by Hamilton and Rosberg stepping out of their cars with 3 minutes of Qualifying left, whereas beforehand we'd have all 10 cars on the track in a straight shootout until the very last seconds of Q3, even a minute or two after the chequered flag.
Just go back to 1 hour Qualifying, and have a quarter of the cars knocked out every 15 minutes, and the times reset after that 15 minutes. Done, easy, simple and will have cars going around the track all hour long.
They're complaining about the new boring qualifying - what has changed since last year?
Instead of a set number of drivers being eliminated from qualifying at the end of Q1 and Q2, leaving 10 drivers in Q3 to see who can set the fastest time, they are eliminating one driver at a time after each 90 seconds. It wasn't too bad in Q1 and Q2 but the Q3 shootout never really happened and no cars were on the track for the last four minutes.
It was better for the TV viewer than those at the circuit. Unless they were sitting opposite a big screen they wouldn't have have a clue what was going on. It looked like some of the teams didn't have a clue either!

Just got back to a traditional 1 hour qualifying session and let everyone act to everything else.
Saturday was never supposed to be a spectacle, that was the race. Saturday was for drivers to drive that car on the absolute limit for one lap to get the best time, then make an adjustment to gain something extra and go again when someone pops that time.
Reminded me of Brundle flipping it first race of the season a few years ago - and legging it back to the pits to get in the T-car (back when the rules permitted a spare car. At one point Ferrari brought FIVE cars to a race, back when Prost was a Ferrari driver)
Shame Ferrari blew the strategy in the end, if there wasn't a red flag it would have been a lot more interesting to see Hamilton trying to fight his way through the pack. Pleased for Haas F1, Grosjean is a real coup for them, he'll probably be in Ferrari red next season when Kimi gives up, again a shame for him as he always seems to be the one that retires in the Ferrari
What a crash !! Phew - and he walked away from it - shows how much strength that cockpit has - i wonder what might have happened if they had a new Halo on it?
Unbelievable crash from Alonso. Seeing him walk away from a F1 car that's just spun a corkscrew through the air and buried itself at the end of the gravel/boards was pretty miraculous. Not a lot left of the car at all. Definitely a good job that there was no halo.
