Walk out on 47 minutes, 2 minutes into the second half

  • A walk out just wont work. The ground will only be half full anyway and of those in the ground only a small percentage will actually do it. It just won't work.

The protest has to be more radical than that. It has to be visual and/or disruptive so it's picked up on Sky.

Don't forget this is the main 4.00 o'clock game on SKY and we haven't has one of those since we were in the Prem.

The main 4 o clock game that kicks off at 3:30pm

Just kidding Beds, I know what you mean, but most armchair fans will be watching the FA cup games rather than ours.
They'll all be switching over when word spreads of the fans storming the directors' box and chopping Pinocchio's nose off.

(don't worry, when she starts talking it will grow back again)

Not enough people will walk out. It needs to be in the thousands rather than hundreds. At the end of the day (and this is an observation rather than digging people out) to many people who slag the regime off with the best of them, will not walk out for fear of missing something. Missing a game or half a game isn't the end of the world.
  • 47 minutes is too early. We've conceded 66 goals - maybe more by then ..
  • I think this would be appropriate.

CARD, do you fancy trying to get this sorted? Are you able to get flyers done?

47 being after the 1947 cup final for anybody questioning why 47 minutes.

Just my opinion but that's a waste of time and money.

    Just completely boycott the games.

The club will be delighted if more people who have paid for their tickets already stay away on Sunday and the impact of staying away on the TV coverage will be zero. I don't know that a walk-out is likely to be very effective, but it will have more effective than staying at home. Quite understand why people would anyway, but as a protest it's a non-event.

A walk-out is not sufficient on its own though.

If they have little to no fans coming at all it will not be effective?

    Really?

SkySports showing less home than away fans would be pointless would it?

What if we are 3 down by that time? Do we make it 69 minutes?

That's not deliverable, though, is it? Many people will not stay away in any circumstances having paid and they will just issue thousands of comps to kids. Hardly anybody is buying tickets anyway, so there is no cost.

I still think the main problem with a walkout is if its a really good game (unlikely I grant you) or (even more unlikely) we have just scored it will impact the number of people prepared to walk out. Its the sort of scenario where you almost need the team to be playing abysmally or us to be 3-0 down (again, both scenarios entirely possible!) for it to work. That said, fair play for coming up with the suggestion.

With the paucity of train service and the satellite tv coverage, the attendance is likely to be significantly reduced.
I know for certain that a maximum of one from my crowd of 8 can/will attend.
The club's dire straits have fallen off the back pages after the spike in coverage 4 or 5 weeks ago.
If (and it's a big if) Roly Douchebag is a proud or vain person he might not want his name to be associated with a discredited brand. To hope to achieve this the club's plight needs to be back in the media spotlight.
Acres of empty red seats on Sunday will certainly help.
Spending in the shop and on programs has to be vigorously discouraged.
Foul language in chants will be turned down to inaudible by the satellite broadcaster so the verbal barrage has to be kept clean.
The black & white thing works well on tv.
Stadium compliant banners need to be on show throughout.
How about showering the pitch and directors box with black and white paper aeroplanes? We spontaneously got a match interrupted in the "good old days" when Steve Brown got red carded while on a stretcher and we had a ready supply of merch brochures coincidentally to hand.
Adorned with a C.A.R.D logo or We Want Our Charlton Back they'll be hard to ignore
I'm no graphic designer so the attached ain't special but you can have this one on me - print em out fold em up bring em along and fling em aloft

  • Let's be really naughty and make a V sign with two fingers and wave them towards the directors box. That will ruffle a few feathers eh!

Don't forget to throw a bit of tutting in as well.
  • The V and tutting, not sure I'm up for anything over the top. Can, I just look towards Nightmeire and frown a bit ?
  • I think this needs some coordinating. We can't have tutting and frowning going on at the same time.
  • ....it might put the players off.

    off what?
  • Good question.

    Their dinner
  • Why not do a Haka, does not matter if in time, would look good, just need a steady regular beat

I'm not intending to dig you out Stig, honest. But I just got a picture in my head of a massive (non-compliant) banner in the upper north with
'YOU CAN STICK YOUR STADIUM COMPLIANT BANNERS UP YER ARSE'

A no show will look like we've given up. We need to demonstrate the depth of feeling. With a demonstration.
