Help for ForeverAddickted in picking team against Brentford

News Shopper understands Cousins, 21, returned to full training this week and will be an option for Jose Riga at Griffin Park.

Meanwhile, Arsenal forward Yaya Sanogo is fully fit despite hobbling off against Reading at the Valley.

Igor Vetokele, who has not featured for the Addicks since January 30, is still not available but the striker is building up his fitness with gym work.

Captain Johnnie Jackson is also still out with his rehabilitation taking slightly longer than the club initially expected.

    You think you are about to see a decent team selection only to be frustrated yet again when key players are still "not available".

    That's because Riga has said that Solly, JJ, Igor, Kashi and Baur are all out

    I'd stick with 5 at the back especially away from home, so my only difference would be Motta in and Bergditch to the bench.

    I have longstanding form of not getting these right, so I've made up for it by suggesting just about every formation we've played in the last couple months. I think he'll look at trying to replicate the second half team against Reading.

    4-4-2 (could see this becoming a midfield diamond, with Cousins on the right and Bergdich on the left in the "shuttling," or "tornante" roles):

    Motta Fanni Tex Yun
    JBG Cousins Diarra Bergdich
    Sanogoals Mak

    Bench: Pope, Johnson, Fox, Ba, Harriott, Lookman, Reza

    Alternative, could see sticking with 3-5-2 and putting Diarra in RoJo's place, meaning you have a good leader lacking in pace at the back, but one who is not rubbish and can control and pass the ball--maybe even playing a bit of an old fashion sweeper role, stepping into midfield in possession, dropping into defense when defending!!! (I got far too excited at the thought of this).

    I just don't think he thinks Poyet is quite up to it. I do have my doubts about him in a central midfield two in a 4-4-2. When he was here last, he definitely benefited from having Cousins and Jacko in front of him, or playing at the base of a midfield diamond.
