Oh hello league one!! I hope @CARD have something big planned for saturday, results don't matter we are finished
I may be wrong (apologies if so), but for various reasons I *doubt* that CARD will organise or get involved with action that could be termed illegal - disrupting matches, trying to get at directors etc.
This stuff has to happen from like-minded people getting together to do it.
Of course it should have happened months ago. That's why we get the woman still walking freely down Floyd Road, trying to goad Airman and laughing her head off. She's scum.
I know we are all hurting and frustrated at another loss. But to say we are dead and buried and players don't care does not stack up. This was an away game on a cold Tuesday night up north against an in form team. We would not be surprised to have been stuffed! We lost by the odd goal, played last 20 mins with ten men, had same number of shots on target and had the larger possession percentage. Now I wasn't there and the stats may well lie but on the face of it the players gave it a go??
Or we have actually got half decent players but the whole preparation, confidence, organisation, and direction is so shit that we get rolled over by average sides week in week out.
We have turned up at Preston with a new system, new line up, and players out of position, three days after the last game. That means after ONE TRAINING SESSION. For the coaching staff to even think that will work shows how inept and under qualified they are. You can't throw a set of players together, in a new system and expect it to work. That smacks of panic from a coaching staff devoid of knowledge, experience and ideas.
Yet again, it looks like no scouting, so no organisation at set plays, especially corners. Not that there has been any time to get organised, as we have had to put in a new pattern of play in two days. I'm guessing yesterday was a light training session before travelling north, after a recovery session on Sunday. A Kent Invicta manager would not attempt re-structuring the whole football plan in three days, without working on it. They are Amatuers and it's a complete shambles.
The evidence now is that it wasn't Riga or Carol in 2014, it was Dyer & Mathew who put in the work that kept us up, on the back of Jacko's rallying call, because those two Belgian numpties have been shown up to be clueless.
I took pelters for mentioning this back then, Riga was he fans God but people really didn't understand the work DM stuck in behind the scenes (and AD). It's not all fell apart coincidentally, it's fell apart for several reasons and these backroom staff changes are one of the big ones. Riga was just the star at the top of the tree, no more.
We have no experienced knowledgeable coaching staff left, it'll now be attempts of possible working systems, not proven systems that will work against teams. I doubt our team are even scouting the other teams appropriately right now, as they have so much catch up in their own skills and fitness.
With three CBs named in the starting line up a change of formation was expected and so it came to pass with a 5-3-2 line up. We started confidentially again and had plenty of the ball from the off. Both Fox and Motta got well forward, so effectively we were playing a 3-5-2 / 3-3-4 when going forward. Plenty of balls were going across the goalmouth however the quality was not that great with several being over hit and when a decent ball was delivered no one managed to get on the end of it.
Who said lightening never strikes twice? Preston's first corner and I said to my mate we'll be alright tonight Riga's picked a team of CBs to defend corners after Satuday......me and my big mouth , a darting run across the six yard box a deft flick of the head, no one on the post 0-1, same old same old. We continued to play and take it to the oppo and equalised quite deservedly through an old piece of JBG magic picking up a ball, after good work by Makienok and Motta, cutting in a burying a left foot driller inside the post from 18 yards. HT 1-1
Second half we kept probing but alas early on from our corner Preston sub Robinson scored after a quick breakout which left Fox 2 on 1. To be fair the heads never went down, the effort was there but the luck wasn't and to cap it all Lennon was sent off for an off the ball incident in their six yard box following a corner. From what I can make out their player tumbled Lennon down and as they got up Lennon stamped on him. The referee never hesitated in reaching for the red in his back pocket. Lennon and Fox claimed he had been elbowed slyly but the ref was having none of it. Motta was less best pleased and remonstrated with Lennon as he left the field as much to say what f*ck did you do that for.
Ba and Fanni both acquitted themselves well when they came on for Cousins (not sure if he had broken down again) and Solly. Sanogo's first action saw him take out their CB with a flying elbow which earned him a pretty quick yellow and he was unlucky not to score late on. Lookman dropped back into midfield and did not look out of place. Johnson played well but Texeira was my MOM, comfortable carrying the ball tonight and solid no nonsense stuff at the back. We deserved at least a point but it is just not to be and when you are down in the dumps nothing seems to go for you. Ironically with three of our home grown off the field before the final whistle the finishing 10 didn't look like 10 men, go figure that.
Well done @Redmidland and others for the match thread again.
must admit expected expected to lose today. Hoped for a win. Sounded like again we looked good until shopping a set piece goal, super happy to equalise more or less immediately. Second goal lost from a set piece is difficult to get back, lost interest really other than late checking of the thread as in a bar with a gunner in Switzerland winding him up as his team lost. Can't say i took any satisfaction from their loss either which is unusual.
. We deserved at least a point but it is just not to be and when you are down in the dumps nothing seems to go for you. Ironically with three of our home grown off the field before the final whistle the finishing 10 didn't look like 10 men, go figure that.
This sums is up for me. It felt like the kind of match where, when you're down near the bottom, you get nothing from. We finished the game with a French, an Italian, and a Danish international on the pitch, and we had a very weakened side out there.
It's probably useless optimism but I hope Riga sticks with three at the back on Saturday. I hope sticks Young on the left, leaves Motta on the right, and either moves Fox in to CB or brings in Fanni. Tex and Fanni are good on the ball, and play 3 at the back means Johnson doesn't have to touch it. Also, can't remember the last time we had that much possession, even if it didn't work for us in this match.
Just back and have to agree with what's already been posted, shame we couldn;t come away with at least a point and yes down to 10 men and you wouldn't have noticed, Good turnout but very quiet, think it's going to be very hard to avoid the drop now.
Poor old Riga - 2 wins in his last 22 games in English football.
Mind you some of the results in this hopeless, barren sequence were achieved with an absolute disaster of a club, rotten to it's incompetent core and run by an absolute knobhead of an owner.
The other results came from his time at Blackpool.

Reading that, you might be inclined to believe that Jason Euell's move back to the Academy was less a demotion than an escape...
Where is KM? What has she got to say about the last couple of months? Yes there are protests - but she's saying nothing! Let's hear from you KM. let's hear again how you and Roland are getting it so right. How your recruitment policy works so well. How you select players. How each managerial appointment has been a improvement on the last. Come on, let's hear from you now.

I think the only time squirrel face will open her mouth again(apart from on street corners), is when she is telling the media how the fans have been so unbearable she has had to resign.
There is no need for her to open her mouth again as she only spouts b******s.
I'd like to hear about Cousins' injury and in particular whther it is connected to the previous one. I'm increasingly convinced the fitness and medical staff are as incompetent and under resourced as the coaching staff (as eloquently pointed out by @Tutt-Tutt above). Didn't Riga talk to the press after, and if so did he cover it?
depressing depressing depressing I actually asked Mrs for permission to go but was told I needed to take my son indoor cricket training ...... Phew !
Solly weak/slow reactions for the first and Fox outfoxed his own inability for the second , pathetic.
Season 2016/17 in League One
0.5% Autos (smidgeon chance if we get taken over) .......... 5% Playoffs........ 39.5% 7th-12th ............ 45% 13th-21st ........ 10% Our first visit to the 4th tier of English League football

under Pardew/Parky relegation I was resigned at Christmas to relegation, this time round after February, the team have done well a extra two months of hope, but all in all the same feeling as then cannot see another win coming, it's funny at all the anger with the result on here, I am very non plussed about the whole thing.Didn't even follow the result heyho, still love the club and despite my feelings a couple of weeks ago, like Elthamaddick will still go, why because I love Charlton and as a mate said in the Lib a couple of weeks ago, if nobody renews it is easy to say we will pick and choose our games, but come 12 o'clock and it's pissing down you will think sod it I won't bother, having that season ticket in your pocket makes you go.We have been meeting up for over 25 years and I aint throwing that away now, he posted a cracking photo of us on facebook all outside a boozer in Wakefield on the way up to Leeds cup match. These freindships and memories were made because of Charlton and I aint throwing them away.
Bit harsh to criticise JR re the formation. He's clearly realised we're shit so trying something a bit different is a win win situation.
On the subject of him being a puppet, feel this is harsh too. We know from the AD interview that he told JR the network players weren't up to it, despite pressure from RD to play them, and he didn't. This stint may have called into question his abilities as a coach but I don't think it's fair to put him in the RD/KM/RM camp.

Since supporting Charlton from about 1967 I've witnessed some awful games and dire Charlton teams, this was not one of them. The line up was mystifying, but like the rest of the hardened, bit cynical but still strangely optimistic Charlton fans was there to support the team. I was sat in front of the lovely old lady who knew how to shout and get behind the team for the whole game.
I was surprised by how much possession we had and how well we was passing the ball around. Preston seemed to be giving us tons of space and didn't look up for a fight. Mak was winning most balls, I think with a fit Igor we would of scored a few in the first half. Lookman is full of energy but at the moment hasn't the body strength needed and gets frustrated to easy. The PNE goal came as a bit of a surprise and sadly to our defence as well. Bloody corners. But a good goal from JBG kept positive spirits going in the away end. Motta looks like a class player, good positioning and physical strength, Texiara was a huge presence and dealing with most balls coming into the box, Johnson was ok but a bit of a liability, overly physical and giving away free kicks. Solly was working hard maybe a bit too hard trying to be everywhere and chasing the ball a bit, like a right back in midfield I guess.
Corners our undoing in the 2nd half, we manage to concede from a counter attack from one of our own badly taken corners, We manage to go down to ten men from another one of our corners. Ba, for probably a completely knackered Solly added a bit more drive into midfield. The appearance of Fanni gave something for the home supporters to laugh about. We came close a few times, but lacked the killer instinct that Igor might of given us. A brief appearance by Sanago saw at last we had someone who could make well timed runs to latch onto balls from Mak, but too little to late. Team clapped of by the travelling faithful, felt positive driving home. fuck knows why, guess its called being a Charlton supporter.
Think the press, especially the local press need to turn he heat up a notch or ten now. The SLP and the newsshopper have been good so far, but they need to really give them hell.

There is as much chance of RD, Squirrel Face or Murray speaking to fans directly as there is of us staying up. Any communication will come via the media (even that may be unlikely given how nasty some of them have been to poor SF) and speak of their passion/love/enthusiasm etc etc.
The reality is they have nothing to say and no solutions. I suspect they will now retreat into the bunker until the summer and try to paint next season as the real start of Operation Duchatalet, gambling on some good results in a division they probably think will be a cakewalk. Their one human sacrifice may be to jettison Riga to keep the mob at bay.
laughable defending for both goals, why no one on the posts for a corner (that one gets knocked away)....and as for Fox for the 2nd, the less said the better...
