I am prepared for league one. I've got membership of the local Picturehouse, joined a snooker club, and made a list of all the books I should have read but haven't. Saturday afternoons sorted for the 16/17 season.
Note to Roland prepare for League 2 by this time next year...your plan is a fucking shambles mate.....move on for the love of god move on!! Do the honorable thing Roland and fall on your sword (the addicks sword that is!!)

Yes, good thinking Red, he probably does need a 2 year plan....
I wonder how many other Chairmen are following his educational piece of how to break even that both he and KM have mentioned recently. We must be a truly compelling argument.

They are wetting themselves - unfortunately, with laughter. Doesn't he know he is a joke?
From Roland's perspective he doesn't see us as bottom of the Championship, no, he sees us as top of League One. It's what is called "vision" We're very very lucky that he is here with us to lead the way. Actually thinking about it, he's been preparing us for League One for the last two years...
League 1 is just such an awful league compared to the championship. Championship is the best second tier in the world, league 1 is just so damn right awful, with no exciting teams in it whatsoever. Imagine if Millwall and Gillingham both go up, now that is embarrassing for us.

My 5 day golf membership is going to get extended to 7 days, no question.
We will win our last 4 games, but unfortunately will already have been relegated, just the players playing to their full potential looking for other clubs
No need to worry. Duchatelet is already making plans. Sell anyone that is worth a fee. Ship out on loan any that are on good money but nobody wants to buy. Sign some Belgian second division players, old men and tell the kids that opportunity knocks.

I said on here a few months ago that we might suffer consecutive relegations under Duchatelet. Just now I had a look at the League One table and Blackpool are only one point above the relegation zone. We'll be where they're now in a year's time.

I'm now wondering whether Uncle Roly sent Riga to Blackpool, undercover, in order to learn how to turn a football club into a complete shambles and industry-wide laughing stock....
But that couldn't be, Riga's his own man, and not part of the network, isn't he?
The Belgians haven't a clue what to expect in League One, so how can they evaluate what standard or type of player is required? Tippy tapped lightweight European players ain't gonna hack it at the likes of Scunthorpe & Port Vale, who will look at Charlton as they biggest home game of the season and the chance of a scalp. The Belgians have no idea what's coming.

They ought to have some idea. Think Colchester United away in the cup and multiply by 46.

These are just the sort of loyal supporters we can all be proud of!
being perfectly sensible & not posting offensive messages I would urge RD to read this & take note. Last time we got out of league 1 we brought in a raft of players, from the Championship and League 1 - all British - and all with experience. I know we were accused of buying the title but I don't think we spent more than a couple of million which I'm sure will be within FFP
On a separate note the 1 thing we need, first & foremost, is a striker ( 2 would be better) who can score 15-20 goals a season. No idea who but that is now down to the scouts/ We got out of League one because we bought BWP - and the times before that we got promoted - in 99/2000 we had Andy hunt with 22 goals & super Clive in 97/98 with 26. It is no coincidence that the years we've had a decent striker we've done well & the seasons the strikers don't hit double figures then we struggle.
If RD is still the captain of the Titanic next season, Expect a mid field of Solly, Charles-Cook and we will buy Jack Munns back from Cheltenham. Will look like men against boys.

When your owner has no ambition to succeed on the pitch, loyalty becomes stupidity. What the hell is the point? And I am speaking as someone who has had a season ticket for most of my 30 years supporting Charlton and travelled up and down the country to watch them. After this season, I won't be back until they've gone and our club is run by owners with the same ambitions as me.
Anyone else find themselves posting the same thing over and over again? :-)
Unless there are changes during the summer I'll not be renewing my season ticket for the first time in 20 years. If there's a change I'll renew regardless of the division. But I'm not paying money to an owner & CEO that doesn't understand English football and treats fans with such contempt. I know others that think the same.

Seriously, you can't expect people to keep turning up and parting with their hard earned money in return for the absolute bollocks that goes with Charlton Athletic these days. Not to mention the time that fans invest in it. For some people it's a whole day out of their weekend gone.

Absolutely. If RD completely misread the strength of the Championship (where 75% of the clubs could comfortably compete in the Belgium Premier League) then he'll probably underestimate League One.
Who out of the present squad would be retained when we get relegated?
Not great is it? Mid table at best and most likely a struggle to avoid a consecutive drop.
The rest would all be sold or loaned out.......and some of those in the above list have contracts that expire in 2016, so might not get an extension (or want to stay).

Who do you fancy!
Bob Peeters Evens
Guy Luzon 5/2
Karel the C_nt Fraeye 33/1
Any of the three 1/20
Place your bets!

Loyalty goes both ways.
Who out of the present squad would be retained when we get relegated?
My guess would be: Henderson, Jackson, Cousins, Ceballos, Harriott, Holmes-Dennis, Ahearne-Grant, Solly, Fox, Ba, Lennon, Johnson, Pope, Phillips, Pigott, Muldoon, Charles-Cook, Mitov, Kennedy, Umerah, Obileye, Sho-Silva, Ansah.
