Getting to close to the Kool Aid

Roland Duchatelet, in my belief, sees himself as a cult figure. He already boasts of being another Alan Turing (the wartime code-breaker who invented a machine to crack the coded German radio traffic) and his quirky leadership of the Vivant political party in Belgium together with their 'unworkable' tax policies appears to confirm his own self-styled (but warped) view that he, RD, has all the answers to everything (even though Vivant has a reputation which is on a par with the now discredited Lib-Dems here).
I further believe that when RD took control at Charlton he intended to create a Year Zero for the club in which it has been required to re-invent itself (in his model) without any reference to what has gone before and with nothing but unquestioning loyalty from his acolytes. He certainly has the latter from his many employees in post in the European pyramid clubs including of course his own son, others plucked from the political and legal professions in Belgium and France and our own dear Katrien Meire the doyen of the Year Zero approach. For example she openly (Interview in L'Echo, Belgium 2015) said that she didn't care about the history of the club, she boasted, same interview, about getting rid of 'old' staff and decreasing the number from 150 to 100 (don't know if those are accurate figures). She also openly holds long-term fans in contempt because of their emotional attachment to the club. There is of course much more but now we have confirmed (from the Cult Leader himself) that Katrien Meire's words in the Irish interview were his....... as a result and in effect we are also required to re-invent ourselves to fit the new model, become customers rather than supporters and become the foot-soldiers of the new regime denouncing those who embrace the old ways and instead damn-well behave and sign up to enjoying days out at The Valley watching young academy players being groomed to be sold on to the Premiership. That he says that its 'too early' to be thinking about selling up proves beyond any shadow of doubt that RD is a deluded megalomaniac who may yet think that the world will herald him as the savior not only of Charlton but football itself.
If it all goes pear-shaped then its not Roland Duchatelet's fault it's everyone else's for not sharing his 'vision'. The last resort of the deluded is that they will say that history will judge them. We don't have the luxury of that - Roland Duchatelet must recognise that his vision here is already dead and leave whilst there is still a Football Club here to save and recover from this foolish experiment. He pulled out of Standard Liege - what is stopping him here?

When I worked for Disney the expression was used almost constantly regarding the number of people in the LA office in particular who had desperately bought into the vision for our division, and were only interested in job preservation and agreeing with the great leader's direction, however irrational and inconsistent it became.

Belgian Kool Aid is most definitely on tap in some areas at the Valley for sure.

Although terrible use of the word 'to'.
