Even by your standards, that's a stupid comment.

I'd agree with the "idiots" if we signed Messi as left back cover... In the main, because the only way any other football club would be willing to loan/sell us a player of any quality would be if he was in a full body cast/dead (admittedly I'm going slightly over the top here).

Duchatelet has turned us into a laughing stock. If anyone in football was being asked what was the most incompetently run "professional" football club in England, what do you imagine their answer would be????

Just how many "idiots" do you think support Charlton?

The thread is about a loanee left back brought in, for a position that is well covered and not needed. If by some miracle a decent creative forward playing centre midfield loan was brought in (none since Stephens left over 2 years ago), then do you really think supporters would be complaining ?

I try to ignore your comments @colin1961 generally but if the fair ground attraction of hitting the mallet on the weight to ring the bill was a test of idiocy, your contribution would have knocked the ringer of the scale and sent it into the neighbouring field, as the weight rockets into the sky.

Maybe I was wrong with my sarcastic comment on the worst left back thread .

I sometimes go on the excellent QPR Report Messageboard I asked the question last night as I heard the rumour at the ground yesterday .I am encouraged and surprised by their response . Just hope it is not a ploy to give him game time.

He is not a left back Colin he is a right back who also plays at centre half. Your other statement is also wrong. Apart from that 100 per cent right.

He's referring to the Korean, so sorry Dick but he's right.
I apologise I thought he was talking about Fanni.

The QPR forum poster said that Young is good at linking up and getting forward, rather than sitting and defending.

Same strengths as Holmes-Dennis, it seems. And Bergdich at LB.

There has to be a dick and fanni joke here somewhere

I am not getting at Bergdich here. I think with a decent left midfield or player with a bit of pace infront of him, he would cope at left back and be able to get forward. He also appears to offer some attacking support when he has a decent centre forward to play into. Sanago was able to hold the ball up and so was Vetekele. When it was just Makienok and Reza, the ball wasn't sticking.

I know Harriott is not perfect either but I don't know what he has done to not get a place in squad. Harriott and Holmes Dennis would be a good combination as Holmes Dennis is able to get forward from the left back position to support the attack. Harriott can be quite diligent in tracking back.

The other thing that bothers me is that another left back appears to contradict the stated policy of giving young players a chance. Holmes Dennis is a quick left back and arguably could easily be ahead of Fox, on the merits of the pace he has. How does buying another loan left back fit into that ?

    Covering THDs injury.

Young and Motta have been brought in with a view to planning for next season. Both now and then we do/will need a new first choice left back and cover for Solly so both signings do actually make sense in my opinion. Like does bringing in Fanni bearing in mind the chances of seeing a fully fit Bauer again this season are very low.

Lets face it. No wins in our next two away games at Fulham and Preston (which is highly likely) & this season will be practically over so it is becoming a case now of building a squad that can return to the champ at the first time of asking.

Sad to say at this point of the season but true. The only way I can see us getting out of this situation is if we sign Gnabry and one other attacking player (on top of all the ones mentioned and already brought in) and both have a similar impact to the better loanees we have had like Coquelin. It has been obvious for months that the squad needed a complete overhaul.

And you think Yung and Motta will want to play in League One? Next you will be saying players like Hendo, Bauer etc will sign contract extensions.
  • Well Yung and Motta dont appear to be able to get championship games/deals elsewhere. If they could they wouldnt be coming to us so it may be a case of league one or go overseas where lower league money is unlikely to be much better.

I think Fox is a decent player but he really does need to be taken out of the firing line, that much is clear. THD is injured and Bergdich's positioning makes him a liability at LB. Yun has played the English game and is out of favour at QPR rather than useless. As long as he's fit (and it actually happens) this is a decent signing. No complaints.

Still need that creative midfielder though

I seem to have missed reading about THD's injury.

What is it and how much longer is he expected to be out for?

Still does not answer the question, if we needed a defender (especially a fit one), why did we not sign Oxford from West ham?

Well it's vital if we're to be the experanicest club in London...

How many Belgians does it take to ruin a football club?
  • I dunno, I'm kind of glad we signed a left-back. To be honest, at this stage of the season and where we are in the league I don't know how we can expect to sign someone who's playing week-in-week-out anywhere decent. This guy at least has experience in England. According to transfermarkt he's played 3 league games this season (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yun-suk-young/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/126643/saison/2015/wettbewerb/GB2/verein/1039), which I know is crap, but thought worth mentioning after the 'hasn't played in two years' comments. Also - and I'm not one of the fans who booes fox - but he really wouldn't have to be that good to be better than fox...

I wouldn't get too worked up about it though. We're going down anyway.

I hope this is a joke? Fanni doesn't make the bench, the Italian hasn't played all season and now another unready defender? Tell me it's not true please.

Because Fanni only arrived in the country today ...
He a left back we need a left back
Really? It's taken him two weeks to leave the Middle East? You do realise that Emirates and BA offer daily flights between London and Qatar, he hasn't had to trek on Camel back to to the southern end of the Suez Canal before catching a ride on a slave boat bound for Constantinople, then onto London on the Orient Express.

Why do you insist on this BS. When you occasionally drop the act you actually have some worthwhile stuff to say.
