looking at things, if west ham where to go down they would be in direct competion for the players we would be looking at getting next year, and would be able to offer more money etc.
am i right to be thinking like this or would them staying in the prem damage us long term in regards to potentional new fans etc

You are right, best would be for us to come back next season and them to come down, but ulikely with all the millions they are spending. If they are relegated they will buy players we might have had and will be favourites to win the championship and reduce our chances of bouncing backup.
answer from heart
The Premier League were so, so, so wrong not to dock them points, for the lies and cheating, so it would justice if they do get relegated, although my anger is much more with the lily-livered Premier League than West Ham to be honest and relegation of West Ham might let them of the hook - not that they won't squirm off it anyway.
sums up my own views very well.
Looking at the two games on Sunday, I'd be very worried if I were a West Ham fan - what two worse teams to have playing each other knowing that if they got 'the right result' it could send my team down.
Of course if Fergie and his mate Curbs get 'the right result' it wouldn't make any difference.
It's not sporting but don't bet against it!
