Saw in this thread VG stopped giving money to the club. I have always been confused (especially when I see and watch interviews about how our academy is not adequately funded) how much, financially VG gives to the academy.

What interviews have you seen or listened to which says that that the academy is underfunded? Why on nearly every Under 18/21 report or news update is the following statement added if VG had stopped funding the academy? Charlton fans can support the academy by signing up to the Valley Gold scheme. Valley Gold enables fans to support the club’s academy in unearthing the talents of tomorrow, as well as giving them the chance to win cash prizes.

There was a period under RD where funds were 'withheld' if you like pending certain guarantees as to what the money would be used for, it may be that people are thinking back to.
