So we go with 4-1-4-1 today, with Jordan Cousins as the defensive screen in front of the B4. For once the opposition adapted to us, with Mendes moved off the right flank into the position behind Oliveira in a 4-4-1-1.
The weakness in our system was Vaz Te on the left wing. It must be hard for a CF to play on the left wing, and it showed. He gave Fox no assistance whatsoever against Burke, whereas Harriott was getting back on the right to assist Solly. Burke and Lichaj caused all sorts of problems down our left in the first half.
Over the ninety minutes, We played well in short spells, but also allowed Vaughan & Lansbury too much space and possession in midfield. Jackson & Ba never got close to them in the first half. JBG made a big difference in the second half, occupying Vaughan and running him into areas he didn't want to go into.
Our best spell in the second half occurred when Solly was getting down the right and over-loading Mancienne, a slow right-footed left back. Then bizarrely, Holmes-Dennis, a left footed full back was brought on to play right back, behind Vaz Te now on the right wing, and Solly was switched to midfield??!? We lost our momentum, Holmes-Dennis got isolated for two yellow cards (Vaz Te is never going to support him) and we are suddenly down to ten man. Solly then switches back to his normal position and we get going again, even though we are a man short. Bizarre substitution!
I thought Cousins did a good job covering the space in front of the centre backs, although space has never scored a goal and we could have gone 4-4-2, with Vaz Te playing off Makienok and Cousins could have played further forward. We probably wasted an opportunity to put Forest under more pressure than we did, when we had eleven on the pitch. But that substitution was bizarre.
First half of absolute shite served up from both sides and you just knew there was going to be a goal just before halftime with the minimal pressure Forest were putting us under. Not going to dig out individuals but will praise Harriot for coming back into the side after a positive loan to Colchester. Second half was much improved but that would not be difficult compared to a first half that would have been a perfect cure for insomnia. We have been getting punished from a lot of our own mistakes but thankfully Forest lacked the quality to capitalise on these errors. No complaints about the sending off as THD pulled the players shirt when he went past him. Massive complaints about the cock piece managing ( using the word managing loosely ) this club.
Just seen the THD incident again. Never a booking. Mabe the ref was racist. I don't know. If you're booked everytime for something like that you'll have 5 a side by the end of each game. But Kettle is another poor ref and has been poor n the past.
we created very little in the first half but Harriott at least tried, Solly was back to his best and Cousins the mid field anchor, Forest scored because they had an unmarked player on the edge of the area who could shoot, and he did. 2nd half with JBG on in place of Ba we were a different team, our goal came from a great centre from Callum that even Mak could've miss with his right peg. Why CF put HD on at right back I just can't understand, he was out of place and played poorly although the 2nd yellow seemed a bit harsh but I blame CF for putting a young inexperienced player in such a positio, should have used Williams who when he did come on was verbal and bossy. A lot better than at Burnley but I'd rather have Watt up front than Mak.

This with knobs on. The substitution was ridiculous and stopped us in our tracks. Absolutely cretinous decision.
The first half was pretty uninspiring Callum Harriott's deflected shot being virtually our only attacking action of note. The teams cancelled each other out for half an hour or so but then Forest inexorably started to dominate getting behind our defence sufficiently often for me to form the view that a Forest goal was "coming." Sure enough, just before half time, it duly did.
I was expecting us to concede a few more in the second half but we tried to take the game to them with substitute JBG looking more engaged than he has for some time amongst others. Simon Mak did everything right with a chance only to be denied by an excellent save from de Vries. A combination of Cousins and Harriott set him up with another chance later on and he buried it for a deserved equaliser.
Meanwhile the normally trigger happy Trever Kettle had been uncharacteristically restrained, putting an arm round players and admonishing them gently. The advent of one Holmes-Dennis T coming on for JJ brought him to the boil with a vengeance and two quick yellows gave Tareiq an early bath and left us with 10 players which Trevor may have thought would assist his 4 away forecast.
The players did not buckle though and Callum Harriott struck two fierce late shots either of which could have won it for us. That man de Vries was more than equal to the task and produced two excellent saves.
Harriott stood out ably assisted by Solly and Cousins. The only player I would criticise for their efforts today is Vaz Te. I couldn't really appreciate the contribution he was making if any.
We have a mountain to climb but, as chanted briefly, support the team fuck the regime.
Awful defending for their goal. Decent second half performance. Bizarre substitution that indirectly led to THD getting sent off.
This. Thought players did OK by and large today, Harriott was excellent and his attitude must have caught up with some of the others. Makienok tried a lot, not all came off, but he got on the end of a peach of a cross from Harriott and everyone was pleased. (I certainly was)
We were much better 2nd half and Forest must be ruing their poor finishing.
Jackson seemed to signal to the bench that he was injured and had to go off.
How come THD suddenly can't play at right-back? He played right-back away to Birmingham without any bother at all and set up the winning goal with a perfect cross with supposedly his weaker foot.
THD can't complain about the sending off, if an opposition player had made that tackle for a second yellow and not been given it prawn sandwiches would have been flying.
Solly is not a CM. I hope that wasn't at his request.
Makienok seemed to gain confidence after the goal, quite substantially.
The team seems completely low of confidence to the extent it is really affecting their game... A win would really, really help them but it must be hard to "reset" the switch, especially when the "resetter" is a useless twat.
Harriot had a great game, could have possibly scored two in the last couple of minutes and didn't not because of poor effort but because of fantastic saves.
Sarr does some very good defending but also some very bad defending, he would be better with an experienced player next to him and perhaps Williams can fill that role with either Sarr or Lennon until Bauer returns. Also Cousins filled the defensive midfield role very well so Diarra could return in CD
Whilst I would be one of the first to say that Makienok is just not good enough at this level, the constant sarcastic cheering of him every time he headed the ball was f*****g ridiculous!! If those involved think that that sort of 'encouragement' motivates a player they are living in cloud cuckoo land!! So many people around me involved and when you listened to their general comments about the game you really begin to realise they don't really have a clue. So glad when Makienok scored and shoved the inane sarcasm back down their throats!!
Yep, we have some poor players on the pitch at the moment but your 'support' of the 'team' in this instance is quite frankly bizarre!!!

You do have a point, and yes I'm guilty with the odd sarcastic cheer.
I thought we looked like a lower mid table side today rather than a relegation side but Forest were very ordinary.
Sarr is a strange defender; you just know he is going to cost some games. At the end of the first half we looked very vulnerable and their goal was no surprise. The square pegs in round holes began to show.
We rallied well second half and could have stolen the game at the end. Forest were probably half a goal better overall but we deserved a bit of luck.
The side seems to lack two or three that can hold it all together during the sticky phases of the game. Relegation is not certain but there's not enough there really.
I noticed Hendo's body language towards the end but wasn't sure if it was just him being angry with Sarr after Solly and Hendo saved us a point after Sarr screwed up
Better, without actually reaching the dizzy heights of good, except in bursts in the second half.
Solly, as last week, our best player. Just great to have him back in form.
Same goes for JBG in the second half. Oozes class. So hope the idiots in charge don't sell him.
Pleased for Big Mak. A limited player but he plays with his heart on his sleeve and shows he cares. He deserves much better than the ironic cheers from the moronic fans.
Cally worked hard first half and played well in the second. Still makes some ridiculous decisions but the boy has talent.
Sarr better than his earlier appearances. Strange player, sometimes looking cool and composed, breaking forward and spraying passes about but sometimes playing like squiddly diddly on ice (look it up youngsters).
Wish we had Tutt-Tutt in the dugout rather than Clark Kent/Superprick.
Football very much second billing to the protests. We drew the game, we absolutely smashed it in the protests.

The second yellow was a simple shirt pull though... there would be no players left on the pitch after the second corner if that was enforced everytime.
Are you sure you dont mean the first yellow give as granted that was a booking all day long but was on a par to when Bartlett got sent off for making a GK save against Spurs years ago

Could understand taking off jackson but why not put Williams in that role as he did later on.
Vaz Ta isn't a winger but it meant Harriot on the wrong side in the first half.
We looked better when Harriot when to the left in the second and JBG came on. Far move movement and playing further up the pitch.
Could have won it at the end but overall while it wasn't a great display there was some fight.
Cousins back to the player he can be in spells and Harriot MOTM.
Williams seemed very keen and would have been the oldest player in red on the pitch when he came on.
Other result went our way so a point is a point but we need to stand winning some games very soon.
Second we improved slightly and were worth a point.
Bringing Holmes-Dennis on at right back and switching Solly to right back summed Fraeye up. Bizarre decision.

We got away with some shoddy defending all the way through.
And we had a few spells of good pressure.
Much better when solly went back to right back
Happy for Mak and the returning harriot
It's a shambles... But there is enough there to hope that the drop can be avoided.
