One of the issues I have is that Roland seems to favour appointing fellow Belgians when non-Belgians would appear to have better credentials.
I agree that 'you Belgian wankers' could appear racist if it were started today and after the suicide bombings in Belgium allied to the highlighting of the social issues they have there.
The chants do not relate to this.
If the Belgian clique appointees were part of the extremely competent part of Belgian football, it would not be sung. It is a reference to the totally rubbish group of senior employees and managers/ex-managers who happen to come from Belgium.
Why stop or change the chant because of terrorist activity in Belgium?
Turn this xenophobic hogwash back on them----- simple question " why have none of the managers appointed by yourselves been British?" ----- they can hardly say their appointments have been better qualified and by asking the question it might ---- might make them think of not taking the next guy from the Hungarian 3rd level who can't speak English
Media coverage is fleeting by its nature; it has ultimately had no impact on RD's position. 'They had a coffin. So what?'
Ultimately? Was there some deadline for getting him out, after which we just accept our fate? I don't think so.
I think that more and more Charlton fans are becoming more energized by the protests than by the football. It is the protests, rather than the football, which reminds them of why they support Charlton. This is feeding more and more creativity and unity. The protest fund stands at 18k.
This is exactly how it was with the Valley Party. Which of us who were around then, remember the football of those months? And yet more and more of us felt more Charlton than we had done for years, as we propelled the campaign onwards.
RD does not understand football fans. He can laugh at the coffin if he wants to. But if I were him, I would not be laughing at how easily that coffin found its way into Belgian media.

Wouldn't that be a success for the terrorists?

Roland Duchatelet's Charlton are a club in crisis - but it's a brilliant time to be a fan
