Trust Between Chairman and Head Coach most important thing?

We have heard this a lot at Q&A’s etc and I know Richard Murray always defends RD/KM on this by saying this.

BUT Is this actually true though as we appointed Bob Peeters in 2014 and he had never worked for RD before so what would be the difference in appointing a manager/head coach (not just British) that knows the league and can tactically pick up points in a relegation battle?

Another strange policy that doesn’t add up!

  • Trust is one thing. But we have an interim manager/coach (call him what you will, it doesn't matter as he is not actually either in anything but name) with his head rammed so far up the owner's arse that he probably doesn't know if it's day or night.
  • RD trusts that Fraeye has bought into "the Vision". Because "the Vision" will work because RD says it will. It doesn't need a competent football coach just someone to go with the crackpot plan.
  • More important than winning? Than scoring? Than defending properly?

More important than communicating fully with your supporters? Than honesty? Than integrity?

More important than nurturing future first-team regulars? Than recruiting the right players at the right time? Than demonstrating a well-run, ambitious, progressive, supporter-engaged, grounded football club?

Sadly, in the world which RD and KM inhabit, it really is true - the relationship between the Chairman and whoever is Head Coach that season/month/week/day isn't the most important thing, it's the only thing that matters. To the Chariman.
  • It would have been true in the past, perhaps, where the manager was the greatest influence on what and how much of the chairman/club's money was spent but not in the RD/'Yes Man' setup.
  • If RD and KM were serious in that belief, the best thing to do would have been to find someone competent and foster a good relationship with that manager.

    Sadly not though.
  • So KM is using The Trust as a go between her and the Interim Head Coach, shows she is talking to The Trust, Can The Trust now tell KF he is fired and say they miss understood KM's instructions.
  • If RD and KM were serious in that belief, the best thing to do would have been to find someone competent and foster a good relationship with that manager.

    Sadly not though.

But that wouldn't work for Roland. Someone competent would mean someone who knows football well. Better than Roland. It would mean that they would see right through his ridiculous strategy and would either leave, or Roland would get rid because he has the gall to question his madness.
  • It's not the only reason, but money will play a massive part in it. The salaries we are willing to pay managers at the moment means that getting someone with experience of the league is an absolute no go.
  • substitute "trust" with "control" and you have your answer.
