Are we a bigger mess than Blackpool?

We seem to be following the same path - run by an owner who doesn't seem bothered about results. Such a truly bizarre state of affairs.
Not sure which club is worse?

No. End of. Blackpool started last season with 14 senior players. They barely have a pitch. Their owner has a license plate with a variation of "Oyston out," one who revels in his own unpopularity, and one who is taking home a huge profit.

Oh and amidst all of that they signed Nile Ranger to a contract extension despite being injured and apparently not being seen around the club of late. So presumably for the Lolz.

I know tensions are high, but let's keep some perspective.

    No.

    But not too far off.
  • Don't be so ridiculous! As if we're as bad as that utter shambles.

Blackpool are 17th in league one and playing in front of 7k crowds.

    Give us a year!

No, we are not close to being such a basket case. But we are heading for the same end result.

At least that Tosser Oyston had the balls to go to the games.
  • Getting there.

Blackpool really were/are on a different level of disaster to pretty much anything I can recall in years.

  • Maybe a different kind of mess but the same cause - dysfunctional owner.

We've already got the crowd situation sorted.

Our season is savable, and it wouldn't even take vast amounts of money.

3 experienced journeymen to shore up our defence and centre midfield (and an experienced manager to organise our defensive play) would give us a chance to start keeping clean sheets and grind out results, and thus finish above the likes of MKD, Bristol, Rotherham and Huddersfield. Scraping 5th from bottom isn't exactly what I dream about, but it's as good as we can aim for realistically.

    P.S. I wish I was a young sapling

I think that's because people thought you were being homophobic, but I'm not sure that's what you meant.

I think you meant he's a crook and, well... that's a different matter entirely!

You forgot 'and a manager that knows what he is doing'.

We are in a terrible mess but we are nowhere near the problems what is going on up at Blackpool.

No, but it's a question of degree. Both club's have an owner who seems content to allow a bad situation to develop into a crisis, and both seem to view the fans the same way that a lot of us view Gary Glitter. Our position is saveable at the moment, but the chance is slipping away fast, and anyway, the changes we need involve a 180º change of direction from the owner, which has'nt been forthcoming yet.
Roland has shown no sign of learning anything from his previous mistakes. The crowds are dwindling, and we are heading for relegation. We're not in the state Blackpool are in yet. But give this lot time, and they can do anything the Oystons can.

    Yea
  • I can't understand what keeps the Blackpool fans going after what they've been through. Our fan base continues to evaporate and I wonder how low it will go with these owners in charge.

6,204 apparently there yesterday. Judging by the empty seats on the highlights I could see the 204.

Is there any way we can get ACCURATE attendance figures and not the ones inflated by the assumption all season-ticket holders are there?
