Not something you would want to celebrate obvs, but can you believe by next May 10 years would have passed since Spurs and our friend Jermaine Defoe confirmed our relegation.
A lot has happened in the subsequent decade. Arguably the closest we came to returning was our first season in the champ. Were it not for a dramatic fall off in results in the last third of the season, we should at least had a play off place.
Since then we had another horrible relegation season, a dramatic playoff semi final loss, and a triumphant return to the champ. A respectable 9th place finish in 12/13 might have been even better were it not for a dip in form mid season. Had we snuck into the playoffs that year Im not sure I would of liked losing to the Nigels, they were on fire going into the final weeks of that season.
Now we have the present situation with RD and co. It will be interesting to see how it plays out over the next few months, and possibly years. Hopefully we will still have a Charlton and a Valley to return to at the end of it all.
Whatever happens, the last 10 years have had more drama then our entire PL spell.
Who needs mid table obscurity in the world richest league anyways????
