Right.... theres been alot of talk and complaints about our antics on an away coach to blackburn. we have appologised for this and will keep it lower next time however, there where people suggesting that they shouldnt let big groups of 'kids' travel together, and somebody suggested that we stop goin because we are putting off other 'more loyal' supporters!
well im sorry to say that i think that this is total rubbish. i believe that me n my friends 'the 21's' are one of the most loyal groups of supporters going. we have traveled all over the country this season rain or shine, saturday or sunday, whatever the circumstances may have been, weve missed topps 4 away games this season, and i think im right to beleive that not many people could say that. And for people to try and tell us to not go is utter crap. the way i see it is that the club needs MORE supporters like us because if we dont come up through supporting charlton from a younger age... where are all of our fans going to come from in forthcoming years?
if you ban teenagers from travelling in big groups that will somewhat put a few of us off going therefore killing off the clubs future supporters. you may say that if our support is the future, then you dont want to be part of it, then that is fair enough. However wether you like it or not, lets face it, the club needs us.

Fair play & respect to you & your crew for your loyalty to our Club.
I make you right. We, as a club, want and welcome all types of fans including younger ones so keep up the support.
BTW why the 21s?
Teach them well and let them lead the way.
FACT.
Many of us were not angels when we travelled in our teens - far from it - perhaps the only difference is that we travelled normally by train in the 70's so didn't annoy so many people.
These kids will be the core of our away support for many years same as we were years back. Let's not deter them.
C'mon you Reds!!!
and yeah we do appreciate that people were pissed at us because of a bit of foul language around the littlens and we will definately tone it down next time and try to respect everyone around us.
and stone muse.... we do usually get the train, unfortuneately coach was our only option for blackburn as we obv, as kids, couldnt afford the plane.
thanks for the + comments addickss!!!
first of all i never said you should not go and i honestly admire your loyalty, my whole point was about being around other fans on the journey that are not up for them antics. as (one of) you posted, you usually go by train and therefore the coach option for this once was forced upon you. i just think for this once some of your group could have been a little more respectful to others as they cant go to another carriage. all of the things that i said happened on that coach, did actually happen, though in hindsight they all may not have been done by all or part of your group. for me the most disappointing thing was the number of times the (volunteer) steward had to react to antics.
anyway i understand youre going to liverpool on saturday and travelodging it. please leave the rooms tidy as we are going up and travelodging it for the sunday ;-).
seriously if by me bringing it up on this forum, 1 or 2 of you think twice whilst around kids etc it would've been worth it. at the end of the day, in the ground we all want the same outcome.
oh, and when posting, speak proper english innit.
When i was 16 i just about afforded the bus fare to bexleyheath to get the coach!
and ill keep doing it aslong as i can =]
and paul, yeah we will leave the rooms tidy, dont worry about that, and if its not the warrington hotel your staying in, not to worry anyway, have a good weekend, and again were sorry for upsetting you and family/friends last saturday.
i know a minibus full of people that might be intrested in buying your (stolen) porn for the liverpool trip. that should offset some of the cost.
Let the yoofs laughter remind us how we used to be.
better than spending it on phones with no ear phones, knives or guns!!
good on you guys for being loyal! keep it up!!!
don't forget a lot of the oldies have put the time and effort over the years, and although on this season you may feel you've done your bit, their old and bitterness reserves them their right to tut and roll their eyes at you for a few hours. :-)
UP THE ADDICKSS!!!!!
top reply.
good on you lads.
(Don't worry, you'll be old one day and then you can get all arsey about "the yoof of today" too - just as generations have before you!)
;o)
Just think of all the great away games for next season!!
at leas tya man enough to apologise - you pesky kids tsch HAHAHAHA
I have to acknowledge that I have become more outspoken and less tolerant of youthful exuberance as I have got older and this is not something of which I am particularly proud. Provided that some give and take is offered and accepted by all, then none of us should be unhappy. Keeping in mind that there may be children in earshot and moderating things to take that into account is a good idea.
On the subject of swearing, it's always a difficult one as, even within the same generation, there are conflicting views as regards inappropriateness. The worst swearing I have encountered at home games was a thirty-something woman who sat a couple of rows behind me who kept up a stream of the most foul invective for pretty much the whole game. The worst at an away game was at 'Boro last year when some blokes behind me (all at least Forty), kept up abusive and racist comments the whole game. They had children with them as well!!
Keep up the support!!
COME ON YOU REDS!!
