Shadows of the Martyn Waghorn signing on loan... Sadly that ended with Pardew being sacked and being replaced by a "Caretaker Manager" who became the actual Manager, we got relegated that year..
We really needed a natural winger on loan. Why other than a couple of loans do we get bad loan players who don't really make much difference to our team?
There's a young winger at Colchester that's meant to be decent
I actually don't think he is that bad. Would do well in squad with confidence and attacking intent.
Completely agree, there's been times where he's almost grabbed a goal out of nothing, just a finish was lacking. I personally rate him, think he will be a quality championship player in the future.
Any inexperienced player is going to struggle in our side under this regime. I would also say that he will do well in a side that plays at a tempo that shifts the ball quickly because he does at least have an idea as to what he's going to do with it before it arrives. Unlike a certain other player of ours who insists on taking the ball down blind alleys until momentum and possession is lost.
He's a typical young striker, who's not good enough to play through the centre, so gets pushed out wide, as if that wasn't a specialist position.
Odd timing to send him back now, rather than after Saturday's game, is he injured? If we got a replacement loan player in this week, we'd be paying his wages for the 2 weeks international break!
