What to pack for Holiday?

With limits on baggage what do you normally pack? So ten days away equals how many shorts, trunks, shirts, t-shirts. I always struggle to find the right formula and end up taking too much or too little.

    We need numbers..

    So far

    5 trunks
5 rash vests - i use these in the pool to cover my manly stomach bulge, and reduce the need to apply suncream
    10 smalls/socks

    10 shirts
    10 polo tops
    10 shorts

Think I'm overdoing the 10s in tops

Wife just told us no wi fi in the rooms, why on earth do us fellas let them book these things?

Half a dozen of shorts/swim, tees and pants. Sandals, kindle and wash gear. Jeans trainers and a top to airport. Bag in cabin so no waiting for luggage. Buy a towel there and wash used clothes every couple of days.

I have no idea, my other valet deals with such trivia.

What no Man-kini?!?! Or replica shirt?!?! I note the knotted hankie but no String Vest to go with it!?!? What sort of tourist are you? & sun cream - What a puff?!?! Nothing wrong with sunstroke and skinpeel.
Also how will you have space to fit in your refugee on the way back?
  • Depends. Hotel enough for however many days. Villa only about 4 days worth needed and bung it in the washing machine. Probably
fit the latter into your carry on unless you are unfortunate enough to be travelling with Thomson who have a ridiculous weight limit of 5kg for carry on. I don't use them any more for this reason.
  • Pair of pants for each day + 1
    Ditto on the socks
    Likewise on the T-shirts
    2 pairs of black jeans
    2 pairs smart trousers
    5 warm shirts
    3 smart shirts
    2 pairs smart shoes
    Reversible belt
    Jumper
    Charlton beanie hat
    Charlton scarf
    + usual toiletries

My holidays may not quite follow the pattern of most peoples...

  • 10 days for me would be

    4 pairs of swimming trunks
4 pairs of 'smart' shorts for evenings
    clean shirt/t-shirt for each night
    flip flops
    shoes/loafers for evening
    10 pairs of boxer shorts

3/4 t shirts for throwing on during the day

    simple...
  • 10-days for me would be...

three t-shirts / two pairs of jeans (In case of wet weather)... Enough underwear etc for the week and the one pair of trainers I always wear
  • it's a wonder the Trust got off the ground if the founder/co-founder (?) can't decide on what to pack for his holiday
  • A floating hammock, lightweight, folds up nicely to put in your luggage and ideal to float round the pool while you sip on a beer and keep cool.

I pack what ever there is room for after the Mrs has packed for her and the kids.

Trust Chairmen can usually work these trivial things out......
  • I might just be annoyed that I've not had a holiday this summer

Mankini's are so last year. Always take a CAFC shirt of some kind. Don't need vests where I go, as it's too hot - hence the sunscreen. You obviously don't know someone who has had skin cancer then...
  • Shirt in the evening is next day's pool shirt.
  • Just take this.

  • Stayed at the father in laws last weekend for ONE! Night and filled the bloody car up.
We got to Turkey for 10 nights in a couple of weeks and I am flipping dreading it!
