  • Darn it. Just committed to going with my lovely wife to a West End show for my birthday which means I will sadly not be at Hythe Town.
  • The globe inn Hythe - 5 min walk from the ground was a Charlton pub before i left, unsure now.

  • From Wikipedia

Hythe Town FC was originally formed in August 1910 from the ashes of the defunct Hythe Wednesday FC.

I hadn't realised we would be playing such Massive opposition
  • Should be ok for this ,just along the coast from me a nice drive through the Romney Marsh ,where men are men and sheep are nervous

A few first team squad players in there. Sarr, Bergdich, Moussa and Doyley on trail.

Was going to go as only a mile from mine but can't be arsed after going to MK Dons last night.

Still want them to do well and make be regret that decision.

I'm at @bromleyfc for Cray v Charlton in the Kent Senior Cup. Can confirm Karel Fraeye is here as he's sat next to me. #cafc

    Damn, opportunity missed

Charlton take the lead. It's close to being offside but replays show it isn't. Bergdich with the goal though.

Grant Basey too slow to get out and he plays Bergdich on.
  • Not surprised Basey has only got one leg hasn't he?
  • I'd enter it anyway just so the Pikey spunk bubbles don't win it...

  • Good, pretty easy win for a reasonably strong side.

Dooley didn't stand out really, but looked solid enough.

Grant Basey is a big old lad these days.

Karel and Jason Euell in conversation for a lot of the game pointing out players to each other etc, although Karel asked me for the Gent score when I was reading out the Arsenal and Chelsea champs league ones.
  • Zakarya has found his level. A semi-professional outfit, and near the bottom of the league at that. A shade better than Karel Fraeye is used to mind.......

Is Karel still locked in your Van?

We may be near the bottom, but Cray are top of their league :)
  • Were Sarr, Moussa and Bergdych playing to keep em fit cos they're not being considered for Saturday? Surely far too risky to stick em in against non-league cloggers if they're needed even for bench duty? Did Doyley look fit and/or capable?

My feeling is that they will all be involved on Saturday. Nobody really clogs anymore....refs don't allow it. Some sort of match practice was needed, it is good for the young lads to play with some experienced players, it's good for the older players to play with the younger lads....and it's good to win.

  • Interesting that we've decided to use first team players in this competition this season, I wonder if it's a response to Gillingham going back on the gentlemans agreement to only field under 22's in the final last season (and still losing) ?

Think the agreement was kids and senior players looking for match fitness/coming back from injury. The timing of the Gillingham game was not for those reasons. Although I stand to be corrected and nowhere near 100% sure.
