    Boring answer:

"Reds boss Dougie Freedman has confirmed the goalkeeper has gone back to the Premier League Foxes while the two clubs try to "iron out a technical issue" with the deal that revolves around Forest's Financial Fair Play transfer embargo."

Goalkeeper Ben Hamer has returned to Leicester City from his loan spell with Nottingham Forest after the move hit a snag, according to the Leicester Mercury.

Hamer is to return to the Foxes
Hamer was due to stay with the Reds on a season-long loan and was in serious contention to play in Friday’s curtain raiser with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Forest boss Dougie Freedman has confirmed today that the move has hit a ‘technical issue’ with the deal and that the problem revolves around the transfer embargo that the Reds are currently operating under.

It is thought that because Hamer has technically replaced the departing Karl Darlow in the Nottingham Forest squad, the Reds are unable to pay Hamer in excess of what they were paying Darlow and a problem has arose because of that stipulation.

The Forest boss did sound optimistic however when he told the observing press that he hoped the problem would be resolved in time for the 27-year-old to travel with his squad do the AMEX Stadium for Friday’s game.

Forest will be aiming for a top six finish in the 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship campaign, after what turned out to be an incredibly poor season for the Reds last season.

    Just Googled the words "Ben Hamer" and it looks like;

"Ben Hamer has returned from his loan at Nottingham Forest due to their issues with Financial Fair Play.

Hamer joined the Championship side on a season-long loan but Forest manager Dougie Freedman has confirmed the goalkeeper is back training with Leicester.

However, Freedman said he was hopeful of "ironing out a technical issue" before the weekend.

The issue surrounds Forest's breach of Financial Fair Play regulations, which saw them fail to report losses of less than £8million for the 2013-14 season"

A one month loan to CAFC then he can go to Forest if they sort it out.
Might seem unfair On Nick Pope but the doubts remain.

Presumably Ben Hamer's salary - or that part of it that Forest are paying - exceeds £500,00. Isn't that part of the embargo - you can sign Bosmans and players on loan but can't pay them above that level ?

That's what I believe. If he's on more than £10k a week, they can't sign him under FFP...

    Illuminati sent him back
  • Technical problems like not being able to catch a cross, and Dougie Freedman watching the video of the goal he let in against Forest a few years ago. But he does kick the ball well.

To do with the being on a higher salary than the keeper that he replaced at Forest. Under the transfer embargo they can sign replacements for those leaving but have to be on the same wagers or lower than the player they are replacing or some such.

apparently in training last week a cross came in and the ball went missing, lost in a Forest of hair. He then got caught selling the balls on eBay. Whatever next
