As i've only just been released from the Tower after my last comments on the Royal family and their box of secrets.
Can i say thanks to the Sun for reporting the news, even if they were 80 odd years late with the info.

The worrying aspect of this is not the children in this home movie: Liz and Maggie,
But the 3 adults, Edward who we know, thought the world of Hitler and who's German Cousin the Duke of Saxe-Coburg
convinced them that The Nazi's would save Germany and England from the depression of the 30's(not that they were effected by the Depression)
Now we know that the dear old Queen Mum at 33 and Prince George, who's behind the camera, and was 38 also bought into this.
The Saxe-Coburgs + Gotha who have been The Royal Family in this country since 1837.
who took over from another German Royal Family: the House of Hanover 1714-1837.

We have had 300 years now of being subjects of a Germanic Royal family.
At least can the Palace brown noses reveals what's in box 24(can't be opened till 2037 ?) and the views of Elizabeth, Wife of George 6th during the 30's decade.

The name change to Windsor took place 17 July 1917 by George 5th because of the anti German feeling in WW1.

The real irony is Germany haven't had a royal family since 1918, well not one that lives in Germany.

I admire what Germany have done since 1945 to turn their country around and be a powerhouse in Europe.

Who the hell cares, they dont live next door to me or owe me money personally so why should I worry. If youre really that bothered, and it sounds that you are, why not move to the Germany you so admire, or another republic where you are guaranteed to have government with no secrets, lies or cover ups.

When I was a nipper we used to roam the area around the Quaggy playing war games. Alternately that meant that one side would be the goodies and one side the baddies. We really didn't mind of course which side we were on that day. We were just half a dozen kids running amok having fun in a fantasy world fueled by stories from the old farts in their families and the black and white war films that were always on the tele. I should imagine that once or twice one of our mob would have attempted the odd Nazi salute in the heat of play. Little did I know, 40 plus years later that we were in fact a hot bed of Nazism. When I phoned the news desk at the Sun newspaper yesterday with this sensational revelation they seemed strangely uninterested. Weird!

Edward was King, and would have remained king if Wallis Simpson hadn't come along.
Edward was a fascist,
He wasn't a child playing games.
This story is not about the present Queen, she was just a child copying her mother and uncle, plus her father was behind the camera.
Even thou my 2 uncles flew behind enemy lines and lived not to talk about it.
My mums family seems to have lived in Britain since the year dot. Even if they had to move to Wales to escape other invaders.

It's about time the 'Royal' family was put out to grass .. somewhere a long way from these shores .. the Queen Mother's family has extensive ranch property in Chile, I'm sure space could be found for them all, albeit there are scores of them hanging about nicking a living

Where's the news though mate? Most of my fathers generation regard Edward as a traitor and rightly so. My initial reaction to these "revelations", you would be not surprised to hear, was to laughingly assume it was just the "German coming out" in our Royal Family. Surprise surprise it's a non story from a tabloid rag, seized upon by the usual suspects who see nothing but their own misguided opinions confirmed about the Royal Family. The fact that the child in that picture has gone on to serve this country faithfully and selflessly for 70 years will not matter a jot to such people.

Even though it was Germanic, they were descendants of Elizabeth Woodville (the White Queen). Equally the perception of Nazi Germany was very different in 1933 to post 1945. Very easy to misjudge an era if you didn't live in it. By today's standards all my grandparents seemed like racist homophobes and I don't think they probably were.

I reckon a lot of us have German blood in us I have.After doing some family history recsearch turned out my. Gt grandmother was German .Lived in Poplar East London and apparently could have been sent back when WW1 broke out.There was even a German hospital and school in the East End.I wondered why when on holiday I'm putting the towels out at 6 in the morning

The Nazi connection includes Prince Philip, his four big sisters all married leading Nazi Aristocrats. When one of his sisters and husband was killed in a plane crash a couple of years before the war, Hitler ordered a State funeral. Philip and his Uncle Mountbatten marched alongside leading Nazis behind the corteges. Philip was very blond in those days and looked like he belonged big time.

When Philip married Princess Elizabeth in 1948, his three remaining sisters were not invited, they did attend the Coronation five years later although were tucked away from the limelight

And presumably replaced by an elected Head of State because that is more democratic.

The myth that democracy is based on elections and chosen representatives persists. Democracy came out of having rulers selected by a lottery system. The only system where leaders do not have a motive for gaining power and using it to pay off those who elected them i.e corruption and handing out political favours.

Our monarchy is just a way of applying the lottery idea and avoiding the problems we get on juries where a complete knob head might get the job. We use the lottery of breeding with a bit of genetic engineering. We keep them in check by an inferior but workable parliamentary election system that tells them what they are allowed to do and say in public.

I am quite happy with the lottery of a monarchy system compared to the alternatives. They mostly get a good apprenticeship before getting to be monarch so we don't end up with an untrained novice in the job.

Electing a Head of State to represent its citizens and having a choice between say Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn or anyone with a mission to be in power and force everyone to look and think the same as them sounds a bad idea to me. Rather have an eccentric that is only fit to be a monarch and represents no particular creed apart from a lottery winner.

Well they certainly had an arrangement with them to divide Poland before WW2, but both countries were being pragmatic as Germany didnt want a second front, and Stalin wanted time to build up his army.

It certainly suited the Kaiser in 1917 to encourage the Bolshevics to get Russia out of the war, but then they were terrified of it spreading into Germany and communism was a rising force before the Nazis got in.
