I have abused it a fair bit in the 5 weeks I've had it. Having something fast has really made me appreciate more so what racers do, especially road racers. How at the TT they go for 2 hours at an average speed of 132mph I have absolutely no idea. The Ulster GP is this week and that’s even faster.
@Greenie I know you're into racing, have you been to watch any road racing? I've seen a lot of live GPs, BSB etc, but was totally blown away by the Ulster GP yesterday. Standing on the outside exit of a fast kink was genuinely scary.
Also met Bruce Anstey in the pits after, he's as lovely and laid back as you hear.

Yes mate ex wife is Irish so been to a lot of road races over there. We don't understand over here how big a scene it is in Ireland, 200,000 at the Northwest 200. It really is a rush as they hammer past. The best one I've been to is the Skerries 100 a mental road track, I saw the great Joey Dunlop there working on his bike I was going to have a chat but he looked busy, so I swerved it, he was gone a few months later! One of my biggest regrets. I was a martial there one year on a 130mph bend, thank god no one had a big off. I hear Anstey is very chilled and a decent bloke, most of the road riders are I hear, it's a shame Guy Martin has injured himself again too. It's my favourite sport after football and there are no braver people in sport then road racers IMO.

Yeah just a quick talk would have been great. I know he was quiet but also a lovely bloke, so I reckon he'd have chatted. I will obviously have to get to the TT one year but it's a lot of money, you have to do it a year in advance, etc. I think I'll be back at the Ulster next year, I'd like to do more but no others look easily reached from Belfast/Dublin. I have actually been to Skerries so I know it'd be a bugger by public transport.
@RedRooster If the weather's alright then I could actually be tempted by Peterborough by bike.
Also does anyone have any clue on the rough price of a service, things are tight at the moment (new dad = empty wallet) but I need an MOT and want a service at the same time...
(I estimate I'll need a new front tyre and oil change)

Try Luisinho Bikes, 433 Burdett Road for a cheap service, I have been going there for years and never had a complaint.
Think I may ride to the Crawley game if the bike survives the MOT
Don't you live in Crawley?
I'm itching to get a battered old triumph and spend the Saturdays I'm not working dealing with it and turning it into a dream cruising beast.
The reality is it will end up in bits dotted around my garage like the quad I've got (no wheels, sold them) and I'll pay someone to come and collect the disassembled parts when I get sick of tripping over things I've forgotten what to attach them to
Of course the stumbling block is not having a licence to ride anything above hoover speed and at 36 I think he boat has sailed for me and bikes. As much as I love the look, sound and speed of them I would use it once a week tops for 4 months of the year

... Or just wait another 4 years until you hit 40 and enter mid-life crisis mode.
I've got a Kawasaki 'Ninja' 300 now. It's far slower than my old CBR but it was having a new problem every few months and cost me money each time. In a couple of years I'll hopefully get something fast and reliable, I miss doing track days already.

Indeed, when i was living in Glasgow and we got promoted at Carlisle i didn't get involved in the pitch invasion as i was in my full leathers!
