CHARLTON SKATE PARK

Hi, I have been asked to forward this message to members and especially anyone local to the area around Charlton village.

The message can be seen below.

"Two local dads from Thorntree School have started a pro-skatepark petition to counter the one against it.

They think having a lovely new skatepark in Charlton Park will be great for all our kids and for local skaters.

If you agree, then please just take a moment to sign the petition and leave a comment - so we can have more FOR signatures than AGAINST.

Big thanks."

  • Can I sue them if I fall off my skates or skate board and hurt myself

The more youth that stay in doors being quiet the better less crime ridden the world will be

  • Great news for our West Stand Residents

  • I don't think there should be more concrete in Charlton Park. I like parks to be as green as possible.

Skate park might have been better on the peninsula, on the new mands/sainsburys pitch.

You need trees and green spaces in the City. Every extra tree helps our environment.

Greenwich council is run by self-aggrandising egos who wouldn't know a real day's graft if it bit them in the face. I have nothing but scorn for most of the usual suspects over the last 20 year period. Liars and thieves, diverting money on faddish and politically biased motives which don't usually suit the majority of residents.
Where did the promised money from the mands and sainsburys development go? Diverted

What fools pay 400K for a skate park? Waste. Do it organically in am area that is already concrete and you spend 40k plus the benefit of smartening up a derelict or contaminated area. Plenty of sites on lower Road that could do with a face-lift or on the peninsula.

Do love the Charlton champion. Always find it informative, well thought out and balanced.
  • Remember when Greenwich park was turned into a skate park that's how big skateboarding was back then great times
  • Had a big indoor one in Wimbledon I think if my memory serves me right
  • South Bank.

The wemberlee of skate parks. You weren't nobody unless you pop shoved it on the SB. I went lots, couldn't skate for toffee but was happy to inhale the greenery and Wear combats because I didn't have the money for decent jeans and who can cuss your 2 pound combats from Mad Mikes Army Surplus of Lee Green?

    Soul Grind...
