Some speculation that Tal Ben Haim, Maccabi Tel aviv winger not the CD, is on his way to Charlton. GL knows him well and he had very good season in Israel. He could add pace and direct play to the team.
Having started his career with Maccabi Petah Tikva, Ben Haim made the move to Tel Aviv in 2013 and has two years left on his deal.
STV has learned the player has a £2m clause in his contract to release him from his current employers and the player is keen on a move abroad.
It is understood Ronny Deila's men face competition from clubs in England, Ukraine and Belgium.
Ben Haim, who can play on either flank and off the striker, scored twice in four Champions League qualifiers this summer as Maccabi were beaten by Celtic’s eventual conquerors Maribor in the third qualifying round.
No bid has yet been made for the player, who is also attracting interest from the likes of Standard Liege, PAOK Salonika and Dynamo Kiev, but Ben Haim would likely cost in the region of £1.75 million.
Ben Haim learnt his trade at Maccabi Petah Tikva, before joining Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2012, before moving onto Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2013.
He has scored 57 goals in 242 matches in all competitions.
