Charlton have made the decision to ban a supporter following a number of discriminatory, abusive and threatening comments made via social media Olly Groome reports
Following Monday’s announcement of the formation of Proud Valiants, Charlton’s first LGBT supporters’ group, both the club and fellow supporters received a number of discriminatory, abusive and threatening comments from an individual on social media.
The club has made the decision to ban the person in question, a 33-year-old season-ticket holder, from attending future fixtures at The Valley.
“The club would like to remind all supporters that it will not tolerate discrimination of any kind and that Charlton Athletic is a football club which offers a sense of belonging, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, disability or religion,” said Head of Matchday Operations Mick Everett.
“While we would have reserved the right to retain the individual’s payment for his 2015/16 season ticket, we decided to draw a line under the incident by offering to refund his money and excluding him from all home games.”
Do you think he might be in employment? He could be without a season ticket and job too very soon.
Think he might be in worse trouble than that:
"Charlton have also been contacted by Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion organisation, who have informed the club that they have passed on the offensive comments to the Police for further investigation. "

Sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the morning!
As much as the blokes an absolute wolly, giving his money back should be it. Releasing a statement, getting the police involved and the fact he could lose his job (if he has one) is all a bit strong.
Doesn't look like greeky will be around next season.
Can I just add that, despite what you might think thanks to the well-reported ranting of bigots, that homophobia is not actually a Christian value.
Leviticus 20:13 "'If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

in the same book it bans eating of shellfish and wearing mixed fibres.
I'm not gay and only have a few friends that are so I guess I could be excused for not knowing what LGBT is.
I've read the article on the web site and most of the comments on here. I have deduced that it is something to do with the gay community, but I can't help but think that it might have been useful if the club had explained what the LGBT community is!
KHA,
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender.
Most major employers now have a LBGT group for its staff, and its becoming more common for other forms of community groups (sports clubs etc) to adopt one.

Leviticus 19:27 says that you should never cut your hair or shave. Think every Christian on the planet has failed that one.
Andrew: "... and finally, in summing up, your Honour, I would ask that, even though I might be the subject of further mirthings, I would ask that you accept my requirementing of a full and completed refunderation of the remaining monies outstandingly outstanding for the remainder of the contract period denominated by the provisioned remainder of the ticket for, to whit, I am seasonally entitled, vis a vie the balance of the payments made, back to me, in full by return of the far post".
Judge: "What?"
Andrew: "Can I have my season ticket money back please?"
Judge: "Yes"
Andrew: "How much do I get?"
Judge: "Nothing. The season's over. Now, go away".

"I am just a normal guy, who hates the left wing telling us these homo/cross dressers are normal, they are not!"
He started telling another Charlton fan he was going to meet them at the ground and then they'll see what happens etc etc.
