  • WTF is going on with this story?
The Sun headline today is even calling him "Roman" ffs.
At the risk of sounding all conspiracy theorist is there some agenda to make him the good guy?
Is this a whoosh? There are a million reasons why people wouldn't like The Sun, but calling someone by their name would be a bit of a weird one

Yep, definitely a whoosh mate  ;)
  • what the fuck is going on?

he paid £140m for Chelsea and the latest bid is £4.25BILLION

where does all this money go because he's not allowed it.
  • Jim Radcliffe has put it bid in, surprised it’s taken this long for him to pile in

The smart money is on RA having some influence and a promise to buy it back off of whoever prices everyone else out of the market, as and when sanctions are lifted.

That's how I, potentially, see it.

It wasn't a bid valuing the club at 4.25bn, it was a bid of 2.5 for the club with a guarantee to invest the other 1.75 in the club over the next 10 years.

The question is why now? Is it just for 'show' as the deadline for bids was weeks ago, and by all accounts one of the US bids is about to be named as the preferred bidder.

Ratcliffe is apparently a Man U fan anyway, so if he wants to throw that much money at a club, why doesn't he make the Glazers an offer?

Even with bids of £2.5b, where will that money go?
  • It's stated that it will go to victims of the war in Ukraine.

The nationality of victims has not been stipulated.
  • It is important to make clear who the victims are. Taken to its extreme, Abramovic could claim he was a victim. I'm sure that is not the intention and Abramovic probably feels he can't go further with the statement given his position. He had better do something about Putin with his corrupt mates and maybe he will be welcomed again by some.

The irony of Russia bombing the shit out of Ukraine is they probably haven’t realised yet that they will be made to pay to rebuild it. Those sanctioned assets will probably never get released unless there is a deal agreed for the rebuilding and and some form of compensation payment and then it’s likely to only going to go back to a post Putin freely elected Russian government.
