If that's the level you need to be at to get promoted from this league then we are simply light years behind. Inboth current quality and owner ambition.

I was thinking about this, and then I thought if you look at what the two teams have to play for, they were going to be at their absolute best today, and we were going to not bother getting out of second gear.
Say what you like about professionality etc but that's just the way that it was always going to be.
Have been fishing all morning so couldn't follow the game very closely, sounded like a romp. Ahh well onward and upward. On the bright side I love the new home kit, and Derby fucking imploded lol
We simply couldn't cope with them at their best. I'd love to be a defender in that team, all you have to do is collect the hoofs from the opposition and start another attack.
Wilson and Ritchie have quality but both were tossers as well.
There was such pressure on us to make the most of our rare first half attacks that we were giving the ball away whenever we got near the penalty area.
In the second half we came back at them, looking to pull it back to 1-2 and had a bit more success but lacked the clinical finish once we had pierced their back four.
How many of those players will be with us ? I'd bet on henderson, solly, fox, wiggins, diarra, watt, vetokele
This is a good question. It will be interesting to see how things shape up over the summer.
I think the days of favourite players, coaches or even a team (by that, I don't mean a club) are gone now. Perhaps 'all change' is how it's going to be each summer
After watching that, I feel almost as dispirited as JBG. We were very fortunate to get away with 3-0 and there was an absolute chasm in quality between the sides.
Very unhappy with the first half performance in particular - absolutely littered with errors (the second goal was atrocious) and I didn't see much evidence of commitment, aside from Diarra. We gave it more of a go in the second half, with JBG showing some good touches, but never remotely looked liked getting back into it.
Bournemouth were excellent but we made it far too easy for them. A very disappointing end to the season and much work to be done.
Still, we squeaked into the top half and I'd have taken that last summer (I predicted 14th), so progress has been made. Let's hope we can continue to move forward.
Sorry to say this but in my opinion that performance was disgraceful no energy, no fight what motivation should you need when The Champions elect are your last home game? Remember these players were still getting paid so they should have tried harder.
Good luck to Bournmouth as they are going to need it but they should enjoy their time in the sun.
Not bothering with players marks none of them deserved more than a 3. Annoying end to the season.
We rolled over, let them tickle our tummy, gave them a lovely round of applause as they strolled past us. Then we gave their announcer the microphone and played "we are the champions" as they lifted the trophy.
What an hospitable bunch we are.
They deserve the Championship as they're the best team in the league but we were pathetic as we were last week. Glad it's summer and can forget about football for a bit.....
My prediction at the start...off to Sheffield to pick up the keys from @operationpig. My tenner against his (house) that we'd finish higher.
Rome wasn't built in a day and we've come a long way this season. The summer will tell us everything about owner ambition. Three clubs finished on 78 points and two are in the play-offs so that's what we should aim for.
Bournemouth have been building for three seasons so we aren't going to get where they are today by August.

Are you moaning about a guard of honour and letting them enjoy their moment? What did you think when a spontaneous round of applause went around the stadium when it was confirmed that Watford had thrown away their title?
Yeah it left a slightly bitter taste but for me, it was a good reminder that what sets Charlton apart from most other clubs is the fans.
I very stupidly went today as I haven't been since Luzon was made Coach. What a disgraceful display, Watt, Vetokele don't look fit. Buyens didn't put in a tackle all game and what was he doing for the Second goal. Fox is not good enough at this level. Diarra didn't have the legs. Bulot flitted in and out of the game. Johnson is very slow, but at least he gave 100 per cent. Yes Bournemouth are a good team but I thought our players were a disgrace. Strolling around and making it easy for Bournemouth. Walked away at the end as I didn't want to applaud that crock of shit. We have got a lot of re- building to do.
1st, well done, 2nd, I fecking hated that, fair play Bournemouth fans made good constant noise but hated them lording it at ours! I know we've done it at other grounds but that's no consolation, let's hope our owners take a good look at what happened today on & off the pitch & think long & hard for next season.
Today demonstrated again what a classy club charlton is... We remember how good burton where to us a few years back, all the best for next season, please get promoted ahead some of the other wingey championship clubs next season for us.
Very good team but we made it ridiculously easy for them. Other than Diarra I'm not sure anyone can hold their heads up from the first half. Johnson cock up led to first goal and Buyens responsible for the second. Buyens was clearly not interested in being there and should never have even started.
Second half was better but still nothing to shout about but we had little or nothing to play for and Bournemouth were playing for the title so not exactly a surprise. This team has shown us what it's capable of but it needs to deliver it more consistently.
Congratulations to Bournemouth, worthy champions and the best team we have played this season quite easily.
Our performance was one shot on target in the 35th minute, we had players going down like flies, Yoni gifting the second goal...and how much did we miss Jordan Cousins, and Bournemouth might have had more than their three. From a Charlton perspective it was miserable and below par by many notches, and nearly every player had a below average game, with possibly TBH, Solly and JBG edging up to average.
A crap season finished with abject surrender at home and left me wondering what we have to do to get better. If we're going to be crap I would rather it was with our young players than with Bulot, TBH, Buyens, Eagles and Johnson who can all go as far as I'm concerned...especially after seeing them today.
The first two weeks of pre season ought to be in an austere boot camp where the players get flayed into fitness because we looked shocking in terms of energy and desire.

How refreshing to read your unbiased opinions Dick after your self imposed exile. Buyens hasn't put a tackle of note in all season because he can't tackle and that's why he amassed 10? yellow cards. Great penalty taker but all the sideways stuff, nah not for me, he clearly wanted out today, thanks for the memories good luck back in Belgium Yoni.
How Fox gets the nod over Wiggins now he is fit beats me. Never closed his man down quick enough for the first goal and gave his man far too much room second half and often caught out. Maybe Guy is under orders to play him and bump up his saleability.
As for Church I'd like to say thanks for the memories but can't remember too many, why wasn't KAG given a run out? All the best for the future Simon. JBG and Watt the only bright lights for me today roll on next season although unless there is a decent overhaul of the squad expect much of the same mid table mediocrity especially if JBG goes.
Fox had a poor game but was up against the highest scoring Midfielder in the whole League
It was a shame that the Kent Cup Final was held on the Thursday... Stopped any Youth players from getting a chance on the final day of the season as am sure they'd have been nackered (i.e. KAG is rated by Luzon as was involved in todays warm-up)

Great to see you're so enlightened after your self-impose exile.
We were so far off them 1st half it was like they were a prem team. They play a passing game at pace and look to have goals all over the pitch.
Noticed how few crosses Hendo caught. Very few as they don't just throw it in and hope.
Glad Kermorgant got a round of applause that he deserved. Those who can watch that game and say we don't miss him or that he wouldn't add to our team are in denial or just mad.
We were better 2nd half but still 2nd best. Injuries and 10 men didn't help but we're just not good enough. A decent mid-table side but that is it.
I hope Roland was watching so he sees what is needed and so he can ask his advisor who told him we could replace Yann with Polish Pete what the he'll were you thinking. Hope he's not still picking our signings otherwise it is another season of Le Point, Tucedean, etc etc.
Thought Diarra was our MOTM.
Don't like seeing another team celebrate at the Valley so left straight away. Depressing end to a frustrating season.
Roland, back Luzon with the five or six players he has said today he needs on top of what we have and maybe that we be us celebrating next season. Quality players, Champ standard players though.

We never looked interested while they battered us --------- for 15 minutes.
Then put on their slippers and lit their pipes.
Well done Bournemouth
