I'd predicted 14th, so it must have exceeded expectations. Sometimes it did. But that winter freefall left a scar. We have some much better players now, players you look forward to seeing. Let's hope we keep them.
Average. The great unknown was what a full season under Roland would bring. The great unbeaten start raised expectations, and we failed to take full advantage, but ultimately a mid-table finish is OK based on the longer term plan outlined but Roland. Last August, I'd have been happy to take a finish between 10th and (more probably) 13th.
If all the best players are cashed in - Gomez, Gundmundsson instead of building a team that will compete for promotion next season then that will take the edge of a season of lows and highs to end on a low.
Bad. Each year we fail to go up it gets harder the following one. This year we see a knackered Blackpool plus probably 2 of the smallest teams relegated, Preston and Bristol City who both have cash coming the other way. Mean while, small team Bournemouth are now money bags, Hit and miss Watford too. They will be replaced by debt free, good manager, plenty of money Burnley, massive spenders QPR and quite possibly, loads of money Sunderland. Next season already looking more difficult than this and this was more tough than last.
What might have been if we had strengthen earlier. Hearing Johann and Yoni say we needed a target man and another forward only confirms what 75% of us have been saying all season on CL. Did we only bring the extra bodies in because we were in free fall and may even have been relegated if it had carried on much longer.
Mid table is fine but will we be able to hold on to JBG and Gomez ? Bulot and Buyens sound like their going back, This was the season to go for it. Brentford could be in the playoffs still ? Were they better than us? Were Ipswich that much better than us ? The league table said they were. Only having 2 strikers most of the season, Igor and George, Igor and Tony has cost us dear. Watford and Bournemouth had 5 strikers to rotate. what ever they invested they have got back with interest. If you try to stand still in football, you end up going backwards. Over to you Roland.

And Henderson fit all season, I reckon that cost us at least a dozen points

i would say 8 or 9 points when Hendo was out. but his influence is massive on the team. He just got my vote for POTY even thou he missed quite a few games. JBG have finished the season very strong and was a close second in my book.
If the question is going to force a simple yes or no answer....
It's a yes, we have had a good season.
The Christmas period and new year in particular, was a very bad patch. It's been a strangely up and down one.
The reason for my overall "yes" is that we are now a work in progress. Much better then last season in terms of quality on the pitch.
Bob Peeters was too cautious in defending our unbeaten run, which I believe created a damaging long term effect for the mentality behind negative football we played. He also lost the dressing room for one reason or another.
Luzon came in and against all odds polished us up and reminded us we have decent players and that if you play them to their strengths they can win games convincingly.
A good start and a really good promising end, with a proper terrible bit in between. I thought mid table may be a run at the play offs, which is kind of what we have had.
If we can keep the squad together and add 1 or 2 next season could be the best in a while.
Let's be honest , we were in a right mess before Guy took over, we couldn't beat Rotherham or Blackpool at home, if we hadn't brought Guy and the players in that we did, we could easily have been in Milllwalls position and been relegated, Roland needs a stronger strategy at the start of the season, if he wants to make it a success.
After all of the mess in the summer, I think it has been a great season. Well done Bob and Luzon, both of them got us the points we needed to stay up and finish in the position we did.
Won't go into reasons why, we all have our own highs and lows, but personally this has been my least enjoyable season following Charlton over the last 20 odd years. Pray next season is different.

Why?
I personally feel we're an odd club with this ownership set up and that has led me to falling a bit out of love with us Without the brainwashing of my boys I doubt I'd have been to half of the games I went to We are clearly owned by someone who is in the middle of a football experiment , as opposed to what you rightfully may ask , well there'll be someone more literate than me who may be able to express it better but it all feels a bit weird I wanna love Guy Luzon, JBG and co but I'm just not feeling it right now It almost feels like I've been transported out and I'm looking in at my club Hopefully my feelings will change and I understand why some would say that I'm weird with my views on it But it just doesn't feel right And of course I'm more than grateful for the solidity of this ownership as opposed to the previous chancers but I can't put my finger on why I'm beginning to lose my Charlton mojo Maybe I'm the odd one here ,who knows I wish i didn't feel this apathetic towards my club Luckily I'm like a woman(not politically correct but most of you guys will know where I'm coming from ;-) so my mood will swing as soon as I'm at games and I'm as rabid a fan as anyone for the 90 mins but then it'll flick back Anyway wtf am I waffling on about , back to bed for this weirdo , need some sleep Yanns in town today

He just said he wouldn't go into the reasons why. That's his prerogative, so it should be left at that.

You've been drinking again. 20 years!!!!!! Least enjoyable? Wow For me better than last season mainly due to a fresh approach from Guy when he took the reins. Next season Roly has to back him for promotion, might have no choice but to sell one player but that doesn't mean and shouldn't mean it will be a disaster.
Reasonable...10th would be pretty good, though we could drop down to 14th...at the start of the season I predicted 12-14th so can't complain. With the positive start I though we may even challenge for a play-off place but having a squad a 'bit' thin on the ground caught up with us and after that bad run I think the vast majority would be more then happy with a mid-table finish.

Or... a top-half first third, followed by a bottom-three middle and a play-off contenders final third.
and a perfect finish on Tuesday

Spot on
Worst than being mid table in the first ?
Worst than being relegated from the Championship.

Maybe I'm the odd one here ,who knows I wish i didn't feel this apathetic towards my club
Luckily I'm like a woman(not politically correct but most of you guys will know where I'm coming from ;-) so my mood will swing as soon as I'm at games and I'm as rabid a fan as anyone for the 90 mins but then it'll flick back
